JBA Uppers are made to address this...

JBA STD High Caster Upper Control Arms for Toyota Tacoma 2005-Current, 1 to 4 inch lift
Installed a 2” lift on my 2021 Tacoma TRD off-road and initially rolled around on stock UCAs. After getting tired of the unresponsive steering, and poor high speed stability I did a ton of research and decided to go with JBA. I am so happy I decided to go with JBA, the handling is night and day better and my lifted truck now handles better than it did at stock height. Prior to installing the lift the best alignment I could dial in was +0.5 degrees camber and +1.0 degrees caster. After installing the JBA UCAs I easily dialed in -0.25 degrees of camber and +4.25 of caster. I am running method 703s in 17x8.5 w/0 offset and 285/70R17 Toyos and have no rubbing issues on the UCA or the body mount (I have done a CMC). I installed the UCAs myself and it was a fairly easy installation. I did the alignment myself with a caster/camber bubble gauge and string/jackstand method for toe. Amazing value and amazing performance, go with JBA!!!

Added my pup's ashes to the mirror, so she can go on rides with me. Also used the truck to get her a tree for the front yard. It's an apple tree. She loved apples. She loved kids. I figure kids can come and take apples from the tree whenever they want, I'll put a bench in and a little free library, and she'll get visitors.

    General maintenance day to include;
    • Grease UCAs
    • New cabin filter
    • Rear diff fluid change
    • Clean/check spare
It hit me today however, years ago when the truck was new to me I took it to Toyota for Transmission flush and rear diff drain/fill. I went back today and looked at my paperwork and noticed they added and charged me for LSD additive. I have an 09 PreRunner… I do have rear locker but it’s auto LSD. Never had an LSD sticker on the rear diff either.

Just another example of stealership antics or have I been missing something all these years?

@AZ_TACO unfortunately i agree and had a similar experience when I went to a local toyota dealer trying to get/confirm an OEM part number specific to my VIN. They kept insisting I drive my truck into the service bay for a “maintenance evaluation”… after fifteen minutes of back and forth I was eventually refered to toyotapartsdirect to find it myself. Lesson learned to avoid that dealership in the future for anything.

Just did this with 150mil, everything but the roof. How was taking that apart? For the roof I'm planning to use this same Siless 200Mil you have here.

My taco feels much more solid overall, speakers just sounds better, and way less road noise through the floor. Also, the doors feel heavier and aren't "tinny" when they close anymore. It's one of those mods that takes a ton of work, and really only you will ever truly appreciate. I was in my buddies 08' AC the other day, and forgot how loud these trucks can be on the road!

Getting an oil change. I have a squeak in my front drivers shock so I suppose that'll turn into more $$.

All of the pillar plastics, dome light and upper center trim/sunglass holder have to be removed in order for the headliner to drop down. I ended up just folding it partially and pulling through the back door. Took just as long to remove the headliner as it did for me to actually complete the sound deadening install.

I did the rear panel and doors a few years back with a thinner material almost like dynamat and it improved the interior sound by a bit. I decided to go with an actual sound dampner and not just a vibration dampner like those aluminum foil sheets are to try and substantially improve the interior cabin noise. The doors were the most noticeable part, especially when closing them.

They are definitely loud in stock form. This stuff was pretty cheap too. $70 for 36 sq ft on Amazon and im able to cover the roof, firewall and the rear panel.

Ha, take it easy there. There are 4 rims and 5 days in a work week, no need to rush.

Had a squeak in the belt. Called Autozone it was within warranty so they swapped it for free. I traded a Continental "made in Mexico" for (same part number 4070834) but "made in Germany." Holy cow this thing was way beefier and looked built 10x better and....I put my the belt on wrong and shredded it....Doh!

I took it back and they gave me a new "made in Mexico" one....I installed it properly and no more squeak. Sure would have been nice to have that German belt, Guys at autozone were scratching their head so that's pretty normal but, Damn, you can't always get what you want, I guess.....
