I had to run the wires on the front of the dash. I wanted to run them under the seal at the door but the harness was too thick. I’m not happy with it, but nothing is pinched or stretched. I’m sure I could make it neater, but I was running short on time!

    Plugs and coilpacks…. 2009 sr5 v6 4x4

Picked up six new denso copper plugs yesterday and stayed after work to drop them in. This is the first time I’ve worked with coil packs - my truck had 130k when I bought it - at 131k now.

Started on the passenger side, just because they’re more accessible. Pulled first plug and found an AC Delco that was clearly burnt and the ceramic had some type of ‘white’ grease where the coil boot sealed. Second and third coil boots both tore off around the ceramic of the plugs…. The white lube had burnt to glue….. So, I have no idea WHY the previous owner choose ACDelco or WHY they used the wrong lube but they effed it up and now its on me. Ended the changeout there and have six new Denso coil packs for pickup on saturday…..

And the gap on the ACDelco plugs that I did pull were way over 1mm (.039-.043)… WTF Kinda makes me nervous about what else has been done to this truck that is out of spec.

I’ve already changed front/diff and transfer case oil - no chunks, but some fine particles. Oil change and new toyota/denso filter (was a microguard….).

I just ordered a transmission pan gasket, new filter and crush washers - because I don’t trust the drain and fill method based on what I’ve seen so far with this truck. I have no idea/trust that the fluid has ever been changed and I want to see whats on the magnets and on the bottom of the pan/inside the microfilter.

Would definitely recommend. The film is thick, and easy to apply. Use a hair dryer to warm it up to make it even easier. Looks great and was under $20. Hardest part is pulling/reinstalling the fogs but its not bad either. I had my 11 year old crawl under and do the second one for me.

Is the resistor the piece that makes your fan work on low and medium speeds? Mine quit except off or high about 3 years ago. But it started working again, then quit again. It’s been working again for almost a year. Toyota said it’s difficult to replace, supposedly have to take something else out to get to it, I don’t remember. Unless it’s over 100° I’m pretty much a 2x65 air kinda guy. But I like to not blast myself to death with heat in the winter. If it ever quits again for a long period I’d be interested in changing it.

If you’re looking to hide wires with your trailer brake, you can consider the Redarc Two-Pro Elite Brake Controller. Although more costly, this dial is the only component exposed after the installation. I installed the brake controller under the center console.

I have the BestBuy TotalTech plan. If you buy much from them it is a worthy plan. Free delivery and setups, free laptop and desktop service, as well as some awesome discounts. 15 months ago I bought 3 remote starts for 3 of our Toyotas for $100 each with free installation thanks to that plan. I highly recommend it.

1.5” square, 1/16” or 0.065 thickness. It’s pretty light how it is and plenty strong. Verify little deflection and I still have to add the 1” diagonal supports

Why not run the cable from the dash up through the pillar? You can notch out the pillar. You can get rid of the plastic wire loom if you do that too.

I’m hoping to sell or trade this truck in a couple years, so I’m fine with it for now.

I went to Google with the part no. It showed me a bunch of different ones and prices, they were all Toyota dealers with a big price difference, I went with the “best price”.

I went to my local decal & t-shirt store and had them make the decals for my engine cover. This looks a lot better “to me” for $15. bucks for 2 sets of them, and it was easy to do. They just took some pictures and printed them up. Spray with water and dish washing liquid before you apply then squeegee them down. After…IMG_3698.jpgand Before… IMG_3687.jpg

I plasti-dipped and color match decal covered my 16 Sport cover. Plasti-dipped the 2008 Off Road. On the fence about decals. They still have the chrome-ish look on the stock emblems.20180313_192804.jpg spiker eng hood struts.jpg
