Would you share the Link? I've wanted to do this but end up lost in the sea of options that all look identical.

My whole roof. A lot of the hood, and under the windows have missing clear coat. It’s starting to look rough… having it painted is pricey though.

My hood was shot completely and my roof was nearly chalky white with damaged clear coat. i had a local pro shop strip, prime, paint and clear those for $980. I thought that was reasonable. My hood before.hood with no clear coat.jpg

If I could get someone to paint it for a price like that, I’d have it done right away. I just called a local shop and they told me it’ll run 6k-8k to repaint the truck. This was without them looking at it.

We have a local family owned 3rd generation shop nearby. They started out as a gas station/garage and added a paint shop 30 years ago. I went to 3 other shops, including cheap MAACO, and then I went to this shop. They were slightly more than Maaco and tons cheaper than the other 2 shops. Naturally the 2 other shops insisted on painting more than the hood and roof. I did buy new plastic roof drip moldings since mine had dulled to white and they installed those in the $980 price. I suggest driving to several shops including an established mom & pop shop. I bet the mom & pop shop will be cheaper and provide better customer care than anyone else. If you must paint the extra areas it will cost more. If you want cheap then Maaco quoted me $1800 for a full paint job however not every Maaco has a good painter or prep person. Reviews from Maaco are 50/50. After 2 years I am extremely satisfied and never returned for anything more than a rag of paint thinner to remove some light overspray.

Ya, I had to do something before it starts to get hot. I'll get it quoted later this year, or sell the truck.. which ever comes first lol.

I picked up a set of Carhartt seat covers for the exact same reason. Didn’t want to wear out the edge of the seat.

I'm going through this now. I quickly discovered how expensive paint work is getting. I hate peeling paint so working with the paint shop we've come up with a solution that will set me back $4500 and should look pretty nice. About 50% of the body panels are fine so they're stripping, resealing and painting the panels that are damaged plus color matching the topper and buffing out the rest. Most collision shops wanted $8k for the entire job and it was obvious they'd rather be swapping and painting fenders then sanding down an older truck. It's hard for me to justify an expensive paint job on an older but decent condition daily driver with 150K on it.

Really scrubbing the hell out of the interior. Crumbs, caked on dirt, ashes. All in good shape, just cruddy. I wish I would have gotten a before pic.
I hit all the surfaces with wipes, then a mix of dish soap, vinegar and club soda on the seats and carpet. Followed by an Ozium bomb.

i brought my truck to a local paint shop for a quote to repaint my roof and hood and blend it and they quoted $2800

Macco shop 2 hours away would do it for $600

I’d say maybe Macco, as I wouldn’t trust them to paint the entire truck, but since it’s only the roof and hood, maybe consider. Question is how’s their blend job.

I believe I need one of these now. I can't keep my filter clean or dry for that matter.
