    minor tweaks
I wandered over to the base today to install OME 884s, using their lift and spring compressor make it pretty easy job, took about 3 hrs.

the 5100s were set one notch up with the stock springs, I moved it back to zero with the 884s. While it was apart I replaced the top hats with some KYB mounts
    [IMG] [IMG]

Added a carrier bearing drop while it was in the air.

Between the 884s and the HD Tacoma rear leafs I got about 1.5'~ 2" at the front and 3" at the back unloaded, the rear settles nicely with a little gear in the back. The ride is much improved compared to the 5100s and the stock springs.

I have the ECGS bushing ready to go in but it was getting close to 100 this afternoon so I'll tackle that one on a cool morning.

Installed a lockable Plano case for my 270 awning walls and meshfloor. Will have to unpack from totes to fit but much better than getting from backseat storage.

Kinda sad to retire these after 17 years but I think I got most of the good out of them.

Trying some of these 3D MAXpider floor mats. Nice fit, good coverage... look good but missing the "rugged" look of my OG's. Great price @RockAuto along with their 5% discount code.

Yeah, I would have liked to have seen them in person too before buying them but everybody has the WT's. The back row foot wells fit great tho it's snug over the hump particularly between the console & rear seat frame. My '07 front passenger floorboard doesn't have retainment clips but the passenger side floor mat has 2 holes. My understanding is some of the early 2nd gens had clips on the passenger side... kinda bugs me. I emailed the company to see if they have a passenger mat w/o holes but haven't heard back. With the underside having a "velcro" type feel it won't be sliding around thats for sure. The top side has an almost carbon fiber look to it. Overall, I'm pleased.

The WT ones are the only other quality ones that I’ve seen besides these. They shot up in price recently & are just as expensive now

    minor tweaks
While it was still cool out this morning I threw in the new ECGS bushing and changed the front diff oil. Once I pulled the axle I discovered the inside wheel bearing seal was toast. $48 later and a trip to the dealer I was good to go. Job went smoothly and the minor vibes are gone.

My budget lift is done, always hated the stock tacoma leafs, even the recall leaf packs. Since I already had the shocks, it was $700 shipped for new springs fr & rear. The setup got me a couple inches front and back and I have allot better weight carrying which was my main goal.

The same shit everyone else has.
Started redoing my rear seat delete.

Ditching the busted cheapo 5/8” particle board and replacing it with 3/4” MDF.

you know, my wife once found a broken "stick" like this under her car it punctured the rear coolant hose and punched a hole through the plastic protective panel, now that stick was in the road under some snow and she likely hit it at at least 45mph but it had to go to the dealer ship and that wasn't cool on my weekend to get parts that weren't readily available yet, on a new car

I’d use good plywood instead. Or bad plywood since I’m cheap but plywood in any case because I’m lazy and hate doing things over again. Particle board and mdf are both much heavier for their weight and not as strong since there’s no structure added by their density. They machine nicely though.
