I need to find a piece of carpet or rubber mat to put over it now.

The old one is cut for a cargo net I’m not putting back in.

got semi mud flaps from a truck stop sitting waiting, cut them to shape

ordered ATHfab bedside brackets since apparently no one else makes such a thing. Really wish there was.

Like a quick release kit to bolt on, regardless of your setup
    For big tires

Warfab bumper probably too high for the ATH brackets. Going to see if I can modify or use them still.

Kind of want to secure flaps to the brackets. Cut them. Then pull them back at an angle with a chain like Australians do so it deflects downward and prevents catching the tire off road

tired of current ugly shit setup

    State legally doesnt require it
But don’t wanna wheel in a group and break person behind me’s glass

these Kendas tend to throw things
Not to mention the mud it throws to cake up behind the tail lights and whatnot

    IMG_8178.jpg

is that for manual or auto?

debating trying to put a cooler on my manual if even possible…
Potentially make the system more durable and add capacity - stock RA60F seems to have tiny gear oil quantity for hard use

auto, you really dont need them on a manual. nothing slipping in a manual to heat the oil that hot.

I figured if Audi had one it might be good
Don’t know how that track use compares to towing, off roading, etc but yes works different than an auto

Put the new head gaskets to the test with some light towing. Ordered the ECGS bushing because the dang drivers side cv input to the diff is making all sorts of weird noises and vibrations. Showing temps up to 207°F while towing, have a new fan clutch to install.

Thinking about going with an aftermarket CSF radiator as well, I tow a 7x14 enclosed trailer to motocross events quite often and don't want to see temps that high. 20240614_133657.jpg

First oil change since I bought it 4 months ago. (Only put 3500 on it so far, but the light was on solid, so I went ahead and did it. Also tells me that the dealership lied about the last oil change, saying it was done the day before I bought it, since if I recall correctly, the light goes solid after 4500 miles.)
Oil was fairly clean, but the dingus that had it before me used all the ugga duggas he could muster on the filter and the drain plug.

    20240615_131418.jpg

I'd say that over all, minus dealing with the tight plug and filter, that doing an oil change on the 4.0 is much easier than on my 96 2.4l. I also learned that it really helps to take the cover off the engine. Gives you that little bit of extra space for your filter wrench, if using an adjustable. I do think I'm going to just get the proper wrench for next time, or get one of the filters that has the nut on the top of it.

Any more details on how you supported it and what you took out? Looks like the seat bottoms are out?

70K today, purchased this 2012 in October of 2011 with 3 miles on it. 300 miles later I lifted it with a Fox suspension kit. Running Kings now and ARB lockers.

Never had a problem with it and plan on keeping it until it dies.

Bought mine in July of 12. But you have half the miles that I have. Hahahaha. Truck looks great. How do you like the ARB lockers?

Never had a problem with them. Really only use them when I have to, truck does great in Moab all by itself.

The filter is hard to get off if you change it while engine is hot. At least in my experience it’s much easier to take off when the engine is cold.
