I have found that bleach will actually remove the chrome from plastic parts but it takes a few day.

That would be sweet! I’m sure a competent 3D modeler could print you one

My chrome grille surround got hit by a rock and ripped through the chrome, so my only choice was to de-chrome instead of scuff and paint. I tried a few methods (oven cleaner, purple power, muriatic acid) and bleach was the only thing that worked. But let me tell you the chrome on these grilles is THICK and it took a lot of bleach and a couple weeks to completely strip it. If your chrome grille has no imperfections I would recommend scuff and paint over stripping (or buy an aftermarket surround).

Finally got a chance to work on my retros, they are perfectly aligned now. Just have to paint the bezels and pretty sure it’s good to go!

I'm a noob when it comes to 'retros'. When you get the chance could you go into more details about them? Specifically how they compare to the oem halogens in terms of performance and craftsmanship? Did you retro it yourself or use somebody else that did the work for you? Basically, I'd like to help get a better grasp of being able to achieve this result with absolutely little to no understanding behind the retro process. Thanks

    BTW your truck looks GREAT

    Just some stuff...
How are most people mounting their light bars behind their upper grills? Not the lower. Trying to figure out a way of mounting a single row light bar right up against the back side of my grill. I have an 2008.

A couple companies make behind the grill mounts. Or people use some of the mounting holes on the rad support

I did that but unfortunately nobody in my area wants to turn those rotors. so after a couple of pads they are trash.

    Hi everyone.

Trying to replace my brake lines with SS lines. My truck has a 2'' lift.
I was able to put the front lines but the rear are too tied (not enough distance) with the StopTech 950.44520 rear kit.

Any recommendations on what kit I should get?

On my 2010 with 152K miles, I replaced: U/L control arms (with Bj's) Steering rack, steering lines, TRE's, CV axles, sway bar links, front bearings/hubs - got it alligned and inspected...Took me a while and I watched a lot of You tube university.....I did the work on jack stands which was tougher than I image a lift would be....I lucked out though because this truck has had a replacement frame in its past so I had to do very little cutting to remove tough fasteners....also rack bolts were already installed upside down!

I went with an assortment Rock auto and not Mr.T.....Mostly because of cost and the fact that I don't have a press...Front bearing and hubs were sourced from a forum member ...Time will tell....base lining this truck to be my Winter driver...front sway bar in picture was painted and re-used....

The last set of rotors and pads I got were Powerstop and lasted a little over 5 years, so if I can get 5 years out of these, I’ll be super happy. Did you go back to just flat rotors?

Man just add in some new shocks and your entire front end will be new. That’s awesome!
