    resealed lower oil pan

    to my surprise
    1. dirty inside
    2. some debris at pickup screen

surprising because I don't know where the debris came from
and my heads looked brand new when I pulled the valve covers

So I'm not sure if this is normal, or means I should up my OCI from 5k syn to something like 2.5k or 3k
which would not bother me as oil is cheap or free

Finished buttoning up the rear bumper yesterday. I still need to remount the flares but I need to repair a couple of the mounting points on the insides of both rears. Was planning on trimming both front and rear while they were off but think that might wait until spring. Also repainted the grill surround and emblem. Gave it a quick bath this morning.

You the original owner? Could do an engine flush. If you’re using synthetic 5k oil changes are perfectly fine.

    not original owner
    already did a flush

have thought about doing another with a different brand, and/or additive

who knows maybe it's normal to see it in that area not looking the cleanest
or oil becoming black quickly which is normal, and causing that

I installed the Wheeler's U-bolt flip kit with Superbumps today. I also cut off the tailpipe just after the axle and painted the end of it with high-temp black spray paint. Next up is some 275/70/17s.

    1. Will not allow me to post on buy/sell/trade. Keeps giving me a title error message. So I figured id post it on here if it doesn't violate the rules since I own a 2nd gen.

Posting for a friend of mine. He is not a dealer and it’s a personal truck. Message me if interested and I will put y’all in contact with him or you can email him at the email below to exchange contact info.

“1989 Toyota Pickup 4 cylinder 38200 original miles, 4x4, this truck was my 82 year old Uncle, it was not a daily drive it was used on a farm and driven around 1000 miles a year in northern Louisiana. It was given to me a few months ago, and I hauled it home I drive it a few miles a week.

It starts and runs fine, only issue that I know of is the radio don’t work, the temp gauge don’t work but the truck does not get run hot, the AC may not work but the AC motor works. Yes there is some body damage and rust it’s a 1989.

$19k located 20 minutes from Houston Texas”

In my opinion, one of the best looking features of the 2nd gens compared to the newer models is the big headlights.

So here's the PSA reminder to take the 20 minutes to polish your headlight lenses. They dull so slowly over time that you never really feel like they're that bad.....until you fix them.

Had a hole in my muffler, so I took it to a local shop for a replacement. Had them do the y-pipe and add a resonator I had laying around as well.

Was driving around with this drone driving me crazy for months thinking I had done my sound deadening wrong. Sounds like a brand new truck.

They made a heat shield for my actuator and tacked on some additional heat protection around the bend.

Done by Muffler Bandit in Yakima WA for $235.

I bought a new-to-me 2gen front grill for my Tacoma. Planning to install it this weekend. The chrome on the current one is bubbling.

Very nice. I've been thinking how I could raise that pipe to gain ground clearance, this looks like a great setup.

Trying to replace my heater core that I accidentally put a hole in. I'm glad I decided to open up the whole HVAC unit so I could clean out the shell casings and debris from a previously removed squirrel nest.

My hat's off to ya, that's a big job! Working under the dash is my least favorite thing to do on the truck.

It's from a previous owner, no idea how they managed to get it up in there unless it was a joke. There was at least that much under floor trim too.

It's what happens when you use your truck as a rifle rest while hunting wood edges - pop out on the driver side, aim across the hood, your windshield becomes a brass deflector and down into the HVAC it goes :D
