If you're talking about cutting the cam bolts for the lower arm then yes the Diablo carbide blades will be tour best friend. When I replaced mine a few years back I used them and got all 4 bolts cut out with with i belive only 2 blades.

Got a lot done this weekend on Taco. Insulated camper. Replaced calipers rotors and pads. Also bled the entire system and added new fluid. Stops better now.

Turns out the undercoating I've had done made the jack points extra slippery!
good work and funny you mention that. i just got fully fluid filmed, then proceeded to oil my bottle jack and clean it up/make sure its working, and i said to myself all this oil i wonder if it effects jacking the truck up. i carry a couple pieces of 2x6 board with me near bottle jack location...but thought about the oil and jacking up the truck. thought maybe get a rubber cover or puck for top of bottle jack, but not sure itd help...hmm
Flatbed time. First thing will be a section of 4x4 tubing to fit between the rear end of the frame rails to act as the rear bumper and hitch point. Debating on cutting and welding it to the inside of the frame so that it's flush with the end or welding mounting brackets on to the square tubing to bolt it to the top/bottom/outside of the frame more like a bumper would be (this would extend it 4" past the frame rail). Any opinions?

Can this be DIYd for an affordable price?

Slightly high for add bed length without decreasing departure angle and room underneath for slide out storage, compartments, etc

I’m hoping couple grand max to make one versus buy for like $10-20k…

I was about to pull the trigger on those but decided I am 0 for 2 on "just diving in" so I did a little Youtube sleuthing on metal blades. Found a guy doing torture tests on a leaf spring and results seemed to lean heavily towards the Milwaukee 'Nitrous' blades, so Mr. Bezos has 4 of those (hopefully not counterfeit) blades on the way to me. I'll try to remember to post the video if anyone is interested.

Attacking the other side while I wait for the metal cutting blades..

Oh hey, someone beat me to it!

    IMG_7494.jpg

Other than that, this side is practically falling apart. 1.5 hours to get what took me a good part of Sunday to do on the other side. Of course having done it before helps now too! Too late to be running the cutoff wheel for the UCA, so here's where I stop for the day:

There's a little strip on cowl or windshield trim, I forget and it's hard to see it. I think if gaps a bit for some people and let's water in

I literally just put a nice application of black gorilla tape on mine because I don't want a leak.

Also make sure cowl drain lines are clean on sides of cowl/fender area
