Had a total flat this summer on driver's front (Taco lean side); the things are so long, the flap was dragging on the ground!

Went down to the lumber yard and got some wood cut for my rear seat delete and began planning amp/sub mount for the rear cabin wall…

Yep, got OEM arms ready to go. Doing pretty much a stock-plus "build" essentially, doing as much OEM parts as I can (or at least until I run in to things like a straight 10" run of clutch reservoir hose for $65). The thing is so clean underneath I thought I would get away with re-using the hardware, but guess not, hah!

I picked up a set of flaps off someone to try out cutting all but a few inches off and then making some EPDM flaps with them, but that's pretty low on the priority list.

Stopped here for the night, all town down, cleaned the floor up a bit and cleaned/reorganized the tools..

Have fun getting the mounting holes to line up. It’s a pain. Also make sure you buy some “rubber cutting board feet” on Amazon to space the amp from the panel after you carpet or paint it. Most amps have the fan vents on the back side and they get blocked when you flat mount them.

Here is something I don’t think has been done before. I needed a good spot to install an acc power and constant hot fuse panel and obviously our trucks don’t have much room in the dash area.

I found that in the center console, the bottom carpet panel (just corrugated plastic) can come out to reveal some through holes that lead under the shifter area to the dash.

I created a false bottom assembly from ABS. Fits very well, maybe a little too well as it is a pain to get back out hence why I kept the longer 2.5in screws poking through with the brass caps for some finger grips.

I still have to file some notches for the power/ground outputs to fold under the panel into the aforementioned console through holes.

Really excited to install some gear!

Taking @Corny Taco’s wise words into account, I made the first measurements and cuts for my rear seat delete setup.

Used dowel rods with wax pencil on the tip to measure initial mounting holes. Rechecked everything with cab measurements, etc.

Hopefully nothing is too off center. Waiting until tomorrow to drill pilot holes and install rivnuts at mounting points.

Hope y’all are having a fine Turkey Day!

I need to do this for my cheapshit Hooke Road console safe that removes the inside, letting things fall into cracks

How’d you make the false floor? Cardboard template first?

The stock corrugated plastic at the bottom will slip out with the help of a butter knife. You can use that to trace the bottom and top ABS plastic panels.

Spent some time today to install my Mechman 240amp High Output Alt today along with the new Gates smaller sized serpentine belt it requires. Also threw in the 300amp fuse into the external alt fuse holder. Everything went easier than expected surprisingly.
