More mods than it should have...
Basically, strengthens your tailgate frame for adding weight onto the bed (i.e. bed rack, RTT, shell) and reduces/eliminates bed warping from weight/off-roading.

I'll have to think about that. I'll definitely let you know. I could probably use the RCI box to ship it.

    Can't wait to start!
I'm a little late on the update, but a week later I had it all back together and working, except I haven't gotten the A/C recharged yet. The only scare I got was the ABS, traction control, and airbag lights were on...I had forgotten to reconnect a wire I cut during removal.

This past weekend was a lot of work. I reinstalled the topper window and the topper rails/rack and the topper itself. I used paint cans on cloths on the bedside rails to get it into position to install it. I also used wood shims coated in plasti dip to make up for the ridge of the topper that was completely mucking with my seal.

TLDR; the front prop shaft u joints are not the same as the rear! And I am overjoyed that my topper no longer leaks for the first time in years.

It bothered me significantly having new u joints sitting around because I had replaced the rear three a while ago. When I previously looked into doing all five I had bought the Dana 513301X from rock auto. I had bought five and mangled one on install so was left with four. For whatever reason, it seemed that I should order the 5213X this time. I do not know why that seemed like a good idea. The front prop shaft was a lot less accessible than the rear. I found myself using a lot of wrenches on the tcase flange. Once I finally got the snap ring clips off I went to work on extracting rhe first of the u joints. It was ugly and everything was rusty as usual. The real fun began when I discovered that the bodies of both u joints described above are too large to fit. I measured extensively but did not write much down due to frustration. I ended up cleaning and reusing the old u joint body and installing four of the the 513301x caps (without grease fitting holes) onto the old body because they appeared to be identical. I installed it originally with the body grease fitting facing the wrong way. Then on reinstall I had the yoke 180deg flipped. I did not feel like redoing it again, so I installed it like that. After driving in 4hi and 2wd up to 85 I can confirm it feels the same. Makes sense given I kept the flange to shaft alignment the same. Oops.

Anyway, then I proceeded to make a new half of the bed platform out of 3/4 plywood because I spilled lots of disel on the old one. Finally I put everything back in the truck and loaded it up and drive back home from the island. I hit 223344mi too. Today it is time to prep the frame for welding.

The twenty year old headlights were in bad shape.
    Stock.jpg
Aftermarket headlights seemed too much of a gamble, so I used Cerakote on them a couple months ago. Not too bad, but I think the inside of the light is oxidized as well.
    Cerakote.jpg
About a week ago one of the headlights was broken by flying debris. Yesterday I replaced both the headlights with OEM.
    OEM.jpg
They look great, but $400 for headlights? C'mon man.

    followed this guide,

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diy-side-mirror-turn-signal.668265/

my passenger side had the wires for the turns, so I just pinned into the oem harness. I did have to run wires and splice into under the dash for the drivers side though.
