Nice work dude! I thought side exit wouldn’t work on my shortbed… I stand corrected!

Did the UNI filter mod today and also installed a little screen over the hole above the cabin air filter. Felt good to check a few things off the list. Anybody know if it's imperative to have a cover for the air pump after adding the new UNI filter? My truck didn't have one stock so I'm hesitant to drop the $45 bucks or so for the OEM part.

    OK

I'm sitting here wondering why you would want the exhaust gases to be at the same height as the windows and, no more than two feet away from the passenger side windows?

Seems to me that at every stop light/sign and when backing the vehicle, all that exhaust is going to be going into the open windows on the passenger side of the vehicle. This seems like a very unsafe modification.

And, should you have something alive in the bed of the truck, that too would be at risk.

So, the why question reigns supreme...[IMG]

The cover isn't needed. It's more for aesthetics and keeping the noise down (which is does a horrible job at).

IIRC, the cover does not fit with the UNI (or it's a really tight fit). I don't run the cover - save your $45.

I agree. I was able to put my cover back on (might depend on brand of filter used) but I did just because I already had it. Not sure if it really does anything or not. The filter will do its job regardless.

Right on!!! I used to crew on j-boats up in Annapolis. I only have a wake boat at the moment, but have had and sailed on all kinds, all around the east coast and carribiean over the years. Looking forward to getting something on the smaller side in a few years when my 1.5 year old is onld enough to not be running off the bow every time you turn away for 3 seconds.

You probably inhale more exhaust gas walking down the sidewalk with passing cars on the road than this setup with windows open while reversing.

    Installed hi-lift

Brand new open box model from Amazon $95, oiled it and have handle caddie and footer and neoprene sheath on some brackets I saw that I finally liked. Works w a tonneau pretty good as only the neoprene sock bunched up is touching my soft roll lightly

The brackets seem solid and it's pretty tight to the bed tolerance wise w moving parts facing inward for less exposure
