Installed some Piaa 525 lights on the bull bar.. was a two evening project since the battery on the truck decided to take a dive at the same time. I also had to clean up some of the wires in the truck.

Hard to see the color but there are two small blue led lights at the bottom fo the lens that are on.

Hey Werloc, on removing the flares on 01-04 there are body clips that have to be busted to be removed and new clips needed to snap them back on. correct me if Im wrong im about to redo mine and this is what i did the first time.

I have a 2000, and had those very small, non-flare chrome trim pieces on mine. I had no problems replacing them with the newer 01-04 black flares. On mine, only a few holes had the female threaded clips that the hex headed screws go into. All of the others just screw into the plastic fender well. I would think if you had them off already, you should have no problems removing them. Maybe I was lucky. Anything (bolt wise) that I know I'll be removing again, I use a little Anti-Seize on the threads.

OK, I just re-read your post.
All are screws, so you shouldn't need to break anything. At least I didn't. If it's like mine, it's just bolted on. Literally 2 minutes to remove each flare.

on the 01-04 the little flare clips are most likely going to break when you take them off, I broke all but one when taking off my fender flares. If your planning to take of the fender flares i'd buy some clips for replacements

If you get a roller (these are special and i don't know if you can buy them without buying the entire gallon) or when you use the herculiner ddab it with the brush it will come out a little better, or more textured, like this:

Mine looked like yours the first go around, then I wanted more texture than did again with the roller...Nice job either way!!

Got the grey wire mod done on my 98 Taco 4x4 TRD...easy...30 min...works like a charm...BUT...do not make turns in 2-wheel drive mode...causes bad wheel hop.

Also, thanks to Chris, I got my clear turn signal light assemblies, and clear corner marker light assemblies - both great aftermarket units (made in Taiwan) - from E-Bay...and cheap prices! Look awesome.

Finally, I found new (chrome) side mirrors to replace those pain-in-the-ass OEM sail mirrors, which NEVER stay put for my 98 Taco...I found that the 2001-2005 Taco mirrors (manual and power) fit perfectly - only difference is 01-05 use mounting nuts instead of mounting bolts like on 98-2000 Tacos...otherwise fit is exactly the same...and only the glass moves...no constant repositioning when someone bumps into them. The new mirrors are Kool Vue brand (made in Taiwan), well made units...available on E-Bay...$100 for the pair. Also available in black. Check it out!

    Will post pix later....Cheers...Chief

Picked up a hose clamp and did the theft deterrent mod. I used bike tubing to prevent any scratches. I cut about a 5" length of tubing and then sliced it in half sideways so that the clamp had clearance.

I took the Tacoma for a nice long "parts run".....literally over and through the "Notch" ( beautiful North country after a fresh snow storm)...
but we now have a reciever PLUS all the hardware and wire harness:D:cool:..

Toyota bought this young mans '99 Taco ( rust recall, replaced by a beautiful Tundra;) ) and he put all the "goodies" up for sale....

Scary how Toyota ownership is almost a "kin ship"......Good people passing along good things....:cool:
