Took it to the car wash. This is a rare occasion for me, but it snowed here in Chattanooga this past weekend. Ever since joining the forum I've read so much about the frame rust issues that I worry about it now. Hit the car wash to get the underbody clean since they salt the roads here.

I purchased the truck while living in MA, but never got a letter from Toyota on the issue. Moved to TN, so it's not as much of a risk, but I still worry...

Fabricated custom aluminum backup light brackets for stealth-mounting up behind (or technically, in front of, I guess) the stock bumper last weekend, then prepped, primered, and painted them this weekend. Need extra reverse lights to see through the two layers of tinted glass. Intend to do a write up.

Sea foamed and filled a full tank of gas, sea foamed engine (oil). Will sea foam induction system next weekend...probably should have started with induction...and will do the oil/filter change after.

Installed new headlight bulbs, then cleaned lenses with McGuire's PlasticX.

Degreased the underside of the hood to clean up what I can only guess was the previous owner's failure to close the power steering reservoir at some point long in the past, causing it to puke all over the passenger side engine compartment while the hood was closed (and failure to clean it up at the time...nasty flipping baked-on and dirt-congealed mess).

Cleaned, de-corroded, prepped, and painted the battery hold-down bracket. It had a new battery when I bought it in Novemeber, but looked like the previous battery was in really bad shape and had spewed some acid. It had been on a non-op reg. for a year when I bought it.

Located and sealed minor leaks at top corners of Snug Top rear door seal with silicone.

    Drank some Maker's...

Definately interested in seeing how you did this! My rear view mirror is basically useless unless its a sunny day because of my Bestop.

Cool, I am not done yet. I am waiting on paint, humidity, and temperature issues to apply a rubberized undercoat spray, then mount and wire it, but I will definitely write it up when I finish in a week or two. I have taken pictures.

I looked at a lot of options for backup lights, and did not want to spend $100 or more on a KC or Hella (or worse, PIAA) kit, and I didn't want to switch anything in the cab...for now. Although I don't have a hitch, I bought a hitch-mount kit becasue I may get one in the future, but I also liked the small lights and harness and cost (~ $35). Soooo, I had to figure out where I could put them out of the way, and see if I could use some stuff I had lying around, which I could. And this is all handtool fabricated and bolt-together, so anyone can do it. I'm pretty anal though, so it isn't a hackjob.

Now I have motivation because someone else cares!

Installed an Airaid Modular Intake Tube. I know, I know - these don't have any appreciable benefit whatsoever with regards to performance. But, I was going to remove the the resonators/silencers for a slightly improved sound and found a good deal on the MIT, so I figured it was better than capping and taping. Also, I think it looks cleaner than the OEM intake tube.

Tomorrow I'm going to do the rear diff. breather extension.

Moved my trailer plug from under the bumper, then installed it beside my license plate. Had to cut a hole in the bumper to do this. Will get pics this wknd. Got tired of straightening it from offroading.
