Probably just gonna do one skid for now. Just gonna replace the flimsy factory splash guard thingy. I will use 3/16 for that. If I can contact my old boss, I will try to get some of the 10 gauge armor plate we used for military trucks. The 10 gauage armor would be about like having 5/16 plate. Most of our armor was atleast 3/8, but we had the thin stuff in the non-critical areas

I think they complement the truck well. It needed something there lol too empty looking before. Next is probably re-tinting the windows and black wheels. im also thinkin about some rain guards.

Just finished up fabricating a 1/8 steel plate to bolt onto my bushmaster so I can attach my rotopax mount to it. Have a 3 gallon gas and a 2 gallon water mounted on the swingout. When I get my bed rack I will have (2)2 gallon gas rotopax mounted on drivers side of bed rack and (1)2 gallon gas and (1)2 gallon water mounted on the passenger side of bed rack

Pretty sure it will be fine. That replaced a double jerry can holder from CBI, using the same mounts on the swingout so I'm pretty confident I'll have no problems with it. Double jerry can holder was heavier than the 1/8" steel plate mount, plus it carried 2 - 5 gallon cans. The rotopax only carries 5 gallons combined, gas and water.

What is the 10 gauge armor plate made of? Would give you more clearance than actual 1/4" or 5/16" but it's not like but it's not a huge difference really. If it is just as strong I imagine it is just as heavy though.
