what's this POR 15 people are using? and whys it good and where can I get some? lol
also, anyone else have this issue...my steering is acting weird. its fine going in a straight line but when I turn it seems to, stick and become tough to turn. when I'm going at slow speeds, say turning a corner, sometimes the steering would stick and wouldn't straighten out after a turn and I would physically have to turn it to go straight with moderate force....
and power steering fluids are good.

any thoughts / advice would be great!!!

I think DoorDing nailed it. I'm going to reach in there tomorrow and try it out.
I"m also going to take a look at what I'm working with for suspension, and brakes and maybe, finally, place my order for OME set up ( 885x's, nitros all around, dakars, LR UCA)

POR15 is the Chuck Norris of rust neutralization and protection.

I use it to coat and protect vintage motorcycle fuel tanks.

It is a 2-step process... cleaner, etching solution (that puts a light phosphate coating on the surface), and the paint itself. The paint is activated by the moisture in the air... or any remaining moisture in the metal or rust that remains after the cleaning stages.

It's not cheap, and once a can is opened, that's it... it can't be re-capped and used later, the moisture in the air will start the curing process.

You can buy it directly from the maker... it's not cheap.

They now have a spray-can rubber undercoating version, so that helps get rid of the problem when opening it. I may have too look into this...

But it is "just" an undercoating... it's not the full 3-stage process. If you already have rust, it will only seal in the existing rust.
    Good for new frames? Absolutely.

    Stock for now...
You can easily store un-used portions of POR-15 and similar paints if you have access to a welder that uses inert gas like CO2 or Argon . Just keep that can away from any potential grounding source , fill the paint can with gas (both those gasses are heavier than air so they settle to the bottom) . Once it's filled up with gas for a good 10-15 seconds seal the top of the container with plastic food wrap, then drive the lid back on . I've stored POR-15 for over a year and it's fine...

Installed a new Truxedo cover from Autoanything. Happy with it so far. Not 100% water tight but good enough for me.

took it in for some warranty work...couldn't find the mild vibration between 1000-1500rpm at low speeds (of course it stops when I take it in). next time I hear it, i'll be trying to get audio. tech said he checked the carrier bearing and u-joints before we took it for a drive. however, it turns out one of the a/c lines under the hood was indeed cracked at one of the bends. I found it when doing my spark plug change a couple weeks ago.

throw some extra self stick weather stripping in the trouble spots, that's what I did.

Wow that toolbox is really short. I thought mine was short and it goes down to the fenders. I kind of wish it went all the way down to the bed.

Ya it is pretty short i think like only 9 inches at the bottom from front to back. But it holds everything i need. Kinda limited with having the SB tacoma.
One good thing tho is i can still slide my kayaks under the box.

Yeah. I have the short bed too... It is handy to be able to slide long things underneath the toolbox. My problem is my toolbox is practically full already... haha
