Got my Trail Team wheels in the mail today and put some Toyo A/T2s on them. Went with P265/70R16 on the tires. Loving the look compared to my stock alloys! :)

Had the tires flipped so that the White letters now show. I cleaned up the tires with some Bleech White and it looks good! I liked the black tire look as well, but thought it was time for a slight change in the the wheel look. Used some Mcguires Gel to shine up the tires and it looks "sporty". It was a cheap quick change. Gonna polish and wax it this weekend! Gotta keep the paint shinning!

When I get some extra cash, I wanna do a 3" suspension lift. Which do y'all recommend?

Can you post a full profile side shot? I've got an AC of the same color and want to know what these would look like on my truck as I'm considering buying a set myself.

New tires! Replaced the OEM BFG's on my 2011 PreRunner with Firestone Destination LE2's (highest rated survey LT/SUV tire at TireRack). Still need to work out the best, correct tire pressure. The installer says 35 PSI, any thoughts on that? I do mostly highway driving.

Well thank yo... HEY, waiiiiit just a minute! It's it's, no, could it be? It's YOU! Every vehicle's ultimate nemesis... (insert melodramatic music score here), DOOR DING!

Just so you know, Mr. Ding, ... my '12 has NO door dings... and YOU will not prevail.

Oh, and thanks for noticing the floor drain. Sumbitch is running slow right now, I just squeegee any standing water out the overhead doors.

Don't mind at all! There should be pictures of all my Toyota trucks here in the personal gallery. All were / are 4WD units. The 1st, a silver 2001 Xtra cab was the product of a traded 1998 Ford F150. I was perfectly happy with that little truck. 40,000 miles on the odo, no rust, 2.7 with a manual tranny that yielded 21 mpg in town. I had it for YEARS. As the kids grew, my wife decided I should consider a larger truck, one that had four doors. The kids needed room for little league baseball gear, softball gear, you know, and with two of them going in two directions, she felt the need to make their taxi runs accommodate their fellow participants. So be it.

That led to the white 2008 DCLB Sport. It had just 5300 miles on it when I bought it. The looks of that truck was pure sex. I really liked that truck a great deal, BUT I could never really come to terms with the automatic tranny. There wasn't anything wrong with it, other than me, I didn't like the auto. So, I sold it and moved back to a manual.

That brought a silver 2006 TRD Access cab home. It was perfect. A one owner truck with just over 43k on the clock. No marks on it... no DOOR DINGS (scoff), just a spot on super nice ride. Plus, it had the 6 speed manual. The gearing in 1st was a hunter / scouters friend. I drove 7 hours one way to get that truck. It sipped gas for a V6 and had the gusto to pull a trailer loaded with my monster quad with ease. That truck is also the one I did the most to... and probably the one I have the most pictures of online here. Yep, that was a kewl truck.

But things happen... couple years go by, my then 19 year old son gets deployed to Afghanistan. God brings him home safe 7 months later and he does what some young men do, buy a "built" car. Dad's 12 hours away, can't go see this car with him and he gets rooked. Long story short, he gets taken twice, once on the purchase of this thing, (turbo'd Honda) and again on the repair of what should have been just a head gasket. It seems that lifting the head on a import car making 399 hp is common... especially when Honda designed it to make just a wee bit over 100 hp stock. He lost a PILE of $$$$ on that endeavor. The "mechanic" charged him $1700 dollars to release his car, with the head now in the trunk, after trying to convince him that the engine was bad. Of course, he would accept that built motor as a core charge toward a $4000 dollar replacement engine. Mmmhmmm.... yeah, he'll hafta answer to Jesus for that one.

I drug that thing home on rented tow dolly strapped to a 2500 Cummins diesel... fixed it right (just a head gasket) and sold it. Kick in the pants is there is no market in PA for a fast import like there is in the south. The selling price reflected that.

SooOooOoooo... Dad makes another trip south, in a silver 2006 TRD Access cab. I had a GREAT visit my his son and left him a truck. I flew home. Hey, walking that far would have sucked.

That series of events lead to the replacement Tacoma... the silver 2008 DCSB Sport. It's nice, but not as nice as my other three were. It's even got a couple DOOR DINGS. Hell, most people would never see them, but I SEE THEM. Er'day. Now that's not the reason I have that truck for a year + or minus... the real reason I trade that truck on the one I have now is... drumroll... the bed. It's too small for me. I got a 10 foot kayak x 2 and this little box ain't getting it done. Hell, I have trouble putting more than one deer in this thing, let alone two tree stands a bow case and other related accessories.

Yup, so I whine around about it until the wifey says, "Hey, just go get what you want..." God love her! Hahahaha, and BAM! We have a 2012 Tacoma, that's a damn kewl color, (gonna look great with the TRD gold Bead lockers, you know it will), and a 6 foot box. Chit yeah!

Truth, this little '12 with its friendly little 4 popper mated to the 5 speed manual is SO close to my old 2001 Xtra cab that I just love it best. Weird yeah? It's just what I fell in love with about my very first Tacoma, 'cept this one has all the modern applications.

And that Beaver Cleaver, is why firetrucks are red. :D

Yep yep... I'll have one for ya as soon as I get some coffee so I can stumble up to the garage. Please stand by...

Ok, couple cups of coffee... here we gooOOoo...

The old style step Rhino used... (on the '06)

And the new style that came this week...

The fit nice, ride high and don't stand off too badly...

Overall I really like them. The only other ones I liked better were the little seen units from Iron Cross. Dayhum, those are flippin' KEWL x 5. The only kick in the sack there is they only list 'em for the DC's, not the Access.

Either way these units, for the casual off roader guy and the $, are gunna be hard to beat... in my often heavily disputed opinion that is. :D

Thank you Sir ! Makes for interesting reading on a Saturday morning. You should write a book. Thanks for taking the time. Glad your son is safe and sound. Hopefully he'll check with Dad B 4 he puts his hard earned $$$ down. I too have a 2.7 stick shift - my second one - the first lost it's frame to New Jersey road salt. I didn't want a automatic either. I don't know how to text so the stick gives me something to do while I'm driving.

Hahaha! Roger that fellow Nor-Easter! Man, the road salt PA Dot and NJ use up here is BRUTAL. I hose my truck off everyday, even in the winter with special attention to the undercarriage. Having a Keystoker with a domestic hot water coil (coal fired) really helps. It'll make 5 gallons of 180 degree water every 3 minutes. I run that to a spray hose in the garage. Oh yeah, she's hawt and salt don't stand a chance!

Hey thanks for kind words for sure, I do appreciate them. He's leaving again in August, this time for Kuwait. Much better than Kandahar! Still I go gray just being here. Good copy on the texting... I'd rather shift too. :)
