What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Ubolt flip complete. Just waiting on my Wheeler superbumps to show up and off come the stockers.

Is that the AP Flip Kit? And if so, will you have to modify anything to fit the Wheeler's? I know that AP sells the kit with Timbrens, but I wasn't sure if there was a huge difference in perforcmance, etc with the Timbrens vs Wheelers.

It is the AP kit. I will have to drill out the wheelers lower plate to pick up the holes drilled and tapped on the flip plate to attach them. Easy enough. Whether you get the timbrens or wheelers is a personal choice. From what I've read timbrens if you tow stuff and wheelers for offroading. That is what I've gathered on all the posts I've read. Doesn't mean it's right but that's what I'm going with.

 

Hoping to be able to pick it up before the Service shop closes today.

 

How do the bumps actually attach? If you drill, how would you thread anything on? I see from the Wheeler's pictures that there is a hole in the middle of the bracket, but I don't understand how the bracket then attaches to the flip kit plate.

The plates come drilled and tapped.

You just need to match drill the wheeler plate to the holes on the AP plates. You do need to specify the extra holes when ordering from AP. it's an option when ordering.

 

I'm gonna go on a whim and say it's for handling, he has a rear sway bar as well, nice truck bud.

 

Ah, I see, you have to drill out 2 holes on the little "U" looking bracket on the wheelers, then bolt the bracket onto the flip kit plate.

Thanks for the help, I've just never seen a good picture of the AP plate. I will be sure to mention the extra hole option when ordering.

yup each side. it took me two hours because i was being a sloiw ass and having a problem getting it behind my qa1 shock. They are kinda fat on the bottom. But its super simple supposed to be a 45 min install.

 

super good, feels like i have nothing in the back of my truck. But im lowered and it brought me up an inch when on the tightest setting. So im still playing with it..

 

In the past couple weeks I have been seeing a small ant here and there around either the center console or the dash. At first I thought it was the bucket I had tossed in the back of my cab that was laying on the ground for a while, took it out and vacuumed everything including taking off the top of the console and getting in there. Fast forward to today at lunch, I see about 15 ants climbing around the radio area. I check the cab filter, clean, I then think it's coming from outside somewhere. I start with the dog legs and clean the crap out of them. Drivers side is just some leaves and dirt but then I open the passenger side and holy crap, I found the nest. I shop vac'd everything including ants and a lot of crap. Then sprayed some ant killer in the dog legs. Hopefully that gets them. I. Hate. Ants.

 

Just installed LEDs for the interior and license plate lights! Gonna do the DTRL LEDs when I get my retrofits in. Thanks CSJUMPER!

 

Bummer dude. My neighborhood has a sweet-ant problem - so I kinda know what you're dealing with. But I've never heard of a nest being moved into a vehicle. This is definitely not LOL!

 

I'm allergic to ants. I would've effing died if that occured in my truck
