Got my Escort Passport 9500ix hardwired into my rear view mirror finally. I initially tried to use the harness I had been using on my Duramax, which just had pins that slid into the plug and made contact with the connectors in the plug, but the Tacoma plug just wasn't having it, so I got a new phone cable wired it into the harness using vampire taps up underneath the overhead console. Of course I thought I remember the polarity of the wires from the last install, got everything together, and it didn't work. I had the polarity backwards, so I had to cut my lead and swap the wires to get things working. And for the record, with the Escort Radar detectors, the Green wire in the Phone line is power, and the red wire is the ground. I looked all over, and couldn't find that info anywhere. The power wire in the rearview mirror bundle is the green wire, and the ground is the white with a black stripe.

All in all its a much cleaner install than what I had on Duramax, especially since I went with a black wire this time, rather than the old beige (flesh) colored wire I'd used before.

    Too few to list.
Thanks for the rearview mirror wiring. Is the green power wire always on or just during back up?

The green wire is hot whenever the ignition is on, so it's perfect for a radar detector.

Hacked my exhaust off on the downturn after the axle. Now my 'symmetrical OCD' doesn't have to look at the exhaust sticking out behind the tire... Don't mind the blocks, hopefully they will be gone soon :D

Also did the fog light anytime mod. Productive day!

They should come with those from the factory. The shock towers flex in a significant amount with any offroad fun, and is why the motor mounts get pushed into the frame. Someone should fab up some with larger diameter tubing...

Does that really work? I know the Front may work but whats the benefit for our trucks? I had these Cuscos bars on my Honda but why a truck? The Rear looks suspect as hell. Front is cool.

No, the vast majority of that was my tax, I just bought the truck. If it were every year i'd be going back to my college days and just riding my bike everywhere.
