Since adding the bed rack I needed another way to attact my bike mount. I added a 2x4 im front of the tailgate and reused the D-rings. Finding metric hardware is a PITA. I just need to remove it and paint it

Nice! I did the same thing but with aluminum works really well.

 

I saw yours after I did mine. I remembered that I was going riding the next morning and reliazed I had to move my mount. Would have only taken about an hour if I didnt have to drive all around looking for 12x1.50 hardware. Luckily the last place I tried had 7/16x20 which worked out. I didn't want to use the bed bolts so I used a hole bit to open up the wood so it would sit flush on the bed.

Did the first oil change yesterday. Pleasantly surprised at the top mounted filter.

5W20 full synthetic (Castrol) and Purolator filter, in case anyone is interested.

 

I really like that. I was thinking about doing that in my truck since I got a tonneau cover a month and a bit ago now. The back rail had to be taken off and that was what my bike fork mount was attached to. I was thinking of putting the 2x4 towards the back of the bed, not in the front like yours. I like how you can still use the d-rings.

 

Next step will be lift I guess!
