What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Does that just kind of clip into the bumper grille there? If I ever would want/need a front plate, that's the route I'd go.

Edit: Just looked at thread and saw it doesn't work on my year. Damn. Still great idea.

 

I made the wondshield wiper shape in the window. being from Louisiana, we never get snow, so this little bit was pretty exciting!

 

Got Goodyear Wranglers 285/70/17 installed WITH MUDFLAPS ON and Maxtrac's last weekend... and a pic with 0lyrunners' truck.

 

Sick pickup love the clean look. Where did you get the TOYOTA letters on your grille looks nice.

Thanks! The TOYOTA letters is from the tailgate, I debadged it and put it up front using 3M adhesive tape.

Spent yesterday and this morning installing Dakars in the back and LR UCAs and extended Icons in the front.

 

I just installed 285/70/17 Duratracs with a 3" OME lift and had really bad rubbing issues until I started trimming things away. No way I could have left the front mud flaps on - front or rear. What did you do to give you the space? I'm also thinking I'm going to have to perform the cab mount chop as well; I still rub there with the wheels turned under compression.

 

I'm not sure about the flaps either.

But, did you replace your UCAs?

I installed LR UCAs & set the ball joints forward to the "E" position; with a 2.4* caster adjustment. I gained over 1" of rear clearance and am clearing my cab mount with 285s on a 8" wheel with 4.5" bs.

I added Total Chaos UCA's when I did the lift. My wheels are 17" x 8.5" with 4.5" bs. Below is an alignment picture:

Yeah - about the only thing you can do is have the caster increased more - it would help. Goto 2.5* min. But the 8.5" wheel will still make it close.
Don't be afraid of a cab mount chop - it's not that big of a deal.

 

Good choice! I love mine, and I put them to good use this weekend at Shiloh. They saved me a couple of times.

 

Thanks. What I liked about these for the dclb, is the rear mount. It ties into the frame, right in front of the leafs. I also liked having a choice of widths. I'm going with medium.

 

NIce. I like that bumper, it looks similar to the AllPro one, any reason you went with BruteForce over AP?

 

Crank that castor up to 3*+ and you'll clear the cab mount a bit better.

 

Thanks for the input! I will try increasing the caster first before I start cutting more off. I'm not afraid of doing a cab mount chop, I just don't necessarily have the facilities to do it - or know of a repuatable shop in Fairbanks, AK to have it done. I've already cut a lot of the bottom of the fender flares off, so the only place I rub is the cab mount.

 

What coating did you put on yours?

 

Black rustoleum on top of rustoleum red rusty primer. It holds up just fine until you slide it across a rock.
