Yeah, I meant just to power the switches. Not for power running through them for the accessories.

It sounds like your switches are a bit different than mine. Mine only have 3 pins. Power in, power out, and a ground for the light. The light steals some of the accessory power to run.

Then yeah, 9+3+3 = 15, you should be fine. If you're going to do it that way, use 12GA to be safe. Though I maintain you should run relays for those lights as well.

A little late in posting in this thread, actually about a month. I did the 2nd gen mod (sold my solid 1st gen 97 last week) and serviced it today. Found a 2009 with less then 6,000 miles on it that has been garage kept at a dealer. Changed the oil, greased the drive shaft, and did the diff extension mod from left over parts from my first time. Blew out my rear seals on the old truck because of a failed stock breather.

I think I talked the salesman down to 26,500. I made sure he threw in a platinum Toyota warranty since I won't have the thing anywhere close to broke in before the factory warranty expires. Guy bought it for a company truck and decided it was too nice so he kept it in the garage. Actually had 4,500 miles when he traded in but the dealership gave it to their service manage to try and run some miles up.

Moves it up higher so if you submerge your rear diff in water, air doesn't get into it.

In my 97 the stock breather got clogged over the years with mud, sand, and salt. I use the 97 as a reference because I've noticed that my 09, and friends new 2012 FJ have the same stock breather on top of the pumpkin. I put off doing the mod on my 97 and one day my buddy borrowed the truck and the smoking gun exploded. He dunked the rear pumpkin in the water at the lake playing and the expanded gases had no where to go except through the rear seals. 300 dollars later in parts to repair the seals I spent 10 dollars on the mod. It also serves to get the breather higher out of the danger zone of inhaling water into the pumpkin as well.

Keeps water out of your diff, without the mod the water can get in the diff, mix with the oil and cause serious damage down the road. I also just did the diff breather mod today, along with trailer relocation and sway bar removal. Heres some links on the first two mods..

My absolute very first mod on a brand new 2014 Taco. ImMrYo's rear view mirror relocation bracket is great, because that thing was right in my field of view.
