Please let us know how this mod goes. Something I thought about and probably the same scheme I would have used. Wonder how it will hold up over time. Thanks.

Will do. Ran into a slight issue with closing the cubby. I am going for a tight fit and the keyed drums are producing a gap. Going to try to fill with a spacer tomorrow or cut a new slot for the locking lever at work.

I will report back. As of now, I wouldnt hesitate to take it to an automated car wash.

When I did my locks, I used my vise and pliers to bend the "slide" at an angle to fit into the hole. After a couple of tries with one, I found the proper bend and then duplicated on the others. I imagine it depends on what lock you use. I'll try to post some pics tmo.

I thought about getting one of these. I just need to be able to look at it before I buy and no local places have them.

The thimble on my synthetic line does not fit inside the small loop of the original warn hook so I worry it would be the same with this.

    Gotcha. I wouldn't use this with a thimble, I'd stick with a d-ring.

I'm not refering to a safety thimble (like the Prolink). I am just talking about the the Samson Blueline Thimble. I have a D-ring on there right now but I would like to have the optional hook.

Roger. I can measure the opening when I get home if that would help.
