Replaced front driver side ABS sensor connector cable on my daughters 07 Taco. Seems while it was parked for three days, a critter of some sort chewed through it. Wasn't done with cutters or knife - it was shredded in one place and completely cut through about 2 inches away. Really chewed up. Made the ABS light come on steady. 'Twas a relatively easy repair. Took stealership 1 day to get the cable or skid wire as they call it. $58. Installed it and light went out before I got to the end of the driveway. Guess it tasted good. 3 years ago something ate the sparkplug wire on the rototiller.

We're out in the sticks a little, so we have just about everything on four legs hanging around.

Waxed the truck. Last wax was almost a year before I deployed.

Picked up some recovery equipment from 4WP.

    Sold my stock tow hitch.

Cleaned the sludge off the inside of skid plates & the bottom of the engine. Fixed the leak on the oil filter relocator which caused all the sludge. Damn what a mess.

Still have plenty of Pismo sand to clean off from 2 weeks ago & I've pressure washed the under carriage 3 times already.

Oil change (Castrol GTX) after 4800 miles, been trying longer intervals since I rack up miles pretty quickly. Did not look too bad after all.
Also greased up the driveshaft and inspected a few parts while the truck was jacked up.

    And got muddy...:)

5k is fine on conventional. I've done it a few times with castrol and pennzoil.

I did 4k on the last couple changes and the oil didn't look any worse after 4k than if I had changed it at 3k. I have always been one to change out at 3k no matter what. I only intended to go to 4500 but I put a few more miles on yesterday than I planned. And those 4500 miles were added in 8 short weeks.
