Went to the dealer and had the recall for the Skid Control ECU software fixed.

While I was there, I had them disable the seat belt chime.

So this is the 3rd thread on this that I know of but I thought I would clean it up just a little since I ordered a set and installed them today. Let me first start off by saying that Henry is a extreme pleasure to work with.

Package arrived within a week of ordering

    Right and Left Bulbs

Let me start by saying that these bulbs are top notch. That is not plastic. That is metal vents and a large metal fan. Each light weighs approx 10 OZs (maybe even more). They are extreme quality.

    20140411_125949_f9c60b8ef71dd5fb8e67e9e866ae82dca0ce9bb7.jpg

Installed on the passenger side. You will want to remove the washer tank to allow yourself more room to work with as the bulbs, fan, and housing are large. Quick tip... remove the rubber boot off the back of the light and remove the clip holding the old light in. On the new light there is a flange that fits exactly where the stock light fits on the back of the headlight. This flange removes from the new light bulb with a quarter turn and you can put it in place on the back of the headlight housing and clip it into place. You then put the rubber boot back in place (admittedly a pain in the ass and the hardest part of the process) then slide the new bulb back into its housing and quarter turn it into place. That's it. Hook up the driver to the light bulb and the power connection to the driver and tape it in place with the supplied 3m tape.

    Passenger side

After the passenger side was installed I flipped them on and the results were dramatic. It is a pure "white" light. The drivers side is not a stock bulb but a Sylvania zXe bulb and it is extremely white but nothing compared to the LED's.

Same process with the drivers side. You will want to loosen the battery to allow more room to work with but it is no harder than the passenger side.

    Finished product on Drivers side.

    Both bulbs working

I'll post better pictures later tonight once it gets dark. I drove for about an hour with them on with no heat issues coming from the back of the bulbs and I could see the reflection in the glass of building that I was driving towards. I can not emphasize just how white these lights are.

    I'll keep you updated.

I wonder if Castrol Syntech bottles are the same threads as that Mobil One cap? Great idea.

A few changes this week, replaced the chrome grill shell with body color, installed a Rigid LED Grill and light bar, and changed the wheels.

Yeah, the Rigid LED Grill is a little pricey. You can get the grill for around $350 if you shop around and then you have to buy an LED light bar from Rigid. So $700 is probably on the low end.

Craig...the light on those is intense! Looks great! Let me know how the throw is at night! A lot of HID types without projectors have a terrible beam a head of the vehicle. I want a nice throw out similar to the OEM's but brighter like those.

I know a lot of newly produced vehicles are going the LED route as there's less heat and a good lighting. Obviously you are not running a projector system with those correct? Just a swap out with the originals?
