Now I don't feel so bad. What exactly does the Iridium plug do differently then the regular Denso plug?

I went for the "performance" plug and not for longevity. The truck feels better. Only time will tell.

Driving home from school today, my stock head unit turned itself off then restarted a few seconds later... Hope it was just a fluke and doesn't do it again.

This happened to me on another vehicle. It turned out to be a loose connection. Good luck man.

That's been happening to mine since last summer. Didn't happen much over the winter but now on hot days it does it more frequently.

I guess that a sign to replace the head unit with an aftermarket high end model...lol I plan to eventually, but will see how mine holds out for now...

Yes.....this was the issue with the one I had. The heat inside the cabin on hot days plus the heat from the system was making it short out.

put the 5100's in the front at 2.5 .I may need a block if the AAL settles too much. The front was a little harder than the rear.Nobody ever warns you about the sway bar links being rusted up at 20k miles.I had to put a vice grip on one. :D

This happened to me as well. When I went in for my last service at the dealer I mentioned it to them and haven't had an issue since.I don't know what they did but I have not had any issues since.

Is there an internal temp sensor to protect the electronics?

Mine would do it during the winter on really cold mornings. I think the last time it happened was in january. I had taken it out last summer when I painted my dash rings and a/c vent trim, then it started happening when it got cold. I ended up taking it out checking the connectors, and making sure everything was ok. It hasn't done it since. Now that I say that, it will probably start acting up again  I wonder if toyota has a tsb for that issue.

I guess the best bet would be to spray all the connectors with contact cleaner and then apply some dielectric grease.

It was around 85F outside and it was sitting in the sun. Not overly worried to be honest. If it happens again I'll take it in to have it looked at. And I'll keep you guys updated. I'm sure you'll be waiting on the edge of your seats.
