Today I finally took the time to Plasti-dip (derp derp) my emblems and it turned out awesome. Love the look. In direct sunlight the emblems still look pretty bright, but they're rather dark and the matte black color is perfect!!

looks better in the shade. Direct sun makes it appear brighter than it really is. Was only 108 degrees today.. UGH.

Overall I really like it. Now we'll just have to see how well it holds up to the awful summer heat here.

five pound fire extinguisher mount behind the regular cab driver seat.

The top screw is into a pre-existing threaded screw hole.

To secure the bottom, I epoxied a block of wood to the back of the cab and drove two self tapping screws into it.

Also wash and slider paint touchup from last off road outing that threw a lot of gravel.

My mind boggles at the prospect of masking the inside of those 'O's and 'A's

No advice on the taco from me, but make sure you get these right. So many will use the wrong lug nuts and manage to wear their studs enough to fail (right Cham ?) is get advice from your rim mfg.

When you Derp...you don't mask the holes. It comes off and follows the edges nicely. I used a wooden shish-ka-bob skewer from the local grocery store as it has a nice point and won't scratch the paint as you get an edge to peel off. For the most part when you peel, it follows the edges really well...

just primed and painted my muffler with regular auto paint..says it can withstand temps up to 200 degrees..do you need high temp paint? does a muffler get hotter than that??

Gorilla's are the best. And make sure you get the proper one's that will grab the most thread.

Gorilla is a brand of lug nuts I assume? I've never heard of them or for that matter ever looked up lug nut brands

If they're Ballistic Jesters you have couple options. You can call the guys you're buying them from an inquire as to what the Lug size requirement is and get Gorilla's, or you can check this link:

    http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.com/Ballistic_Wheels.cfm?pn=Set-Black-Lug-Nuts-Locks&pID=10667

    http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.com/Ballistic_Wheels.cfm?pn=Set-Lug-Nuts-Locks&pID=10663

You need the diameter, prob in millimeter and the length 1.25-1.75 and you can go get what you need from wherever (Looks like the standard Acorn type will work) from their pics

I'm going to get general grabbers at2 in the 265 70r17 after I make sure the new rims I get will fit. The rims I'm getting are ballistic jesters. I have one already, that I bought online to test fit.

Width and Length is what you need to determine for the lugs to fit the Jesters..

This is the first page from their nut assortment that illustrates the dimensions. There are more pages if you check the site with other lengths and diameters as well. So, that's the first step..

Yes I do think it gets hotter than that. The Coolant temperature inside the engine usually runs between 187 - 196 degrees, the exhaust temperature will be much hotter than that.

It does cool as it goes down the pipe, but I'd be willing to bet that the 200 degree paint isn't going to last long.

Are you painting it just for looks? [IMG]
