Fo' real? Damn, that looks nice. I am thinking of a 3 inch lift. How can you tell how to choose for the rear? I've seen kits that have a one inch or two inch lift option... I am a complete noob when it comes to lifts.

I've done a ton of research on this site as well as ask local guys what they think. For the time being the TSB leafs works best. But I do want to install larger tires down the road so that means either an AAL or a whole new leaf pack like the OME Dakars. For the fronts I'd likely go with something like the Icons or Kings but that's a bit more $$$.

I'm happy with the current setup but I can see upgrading some time so I can run 33's.

With 33's(as in 285/75-16 or the 17 equivalent) you don't have any clearance issues in the rear so you don't need an aal to clear them. In the front though the lift helps with keeping it away from the pinch weld and body mount but a lift won't help when you stuff the tire. Also have to worry about the uca. You need either new ucas, wheels, or spacers.

with no rubbing 265/75-16. If you want 285/75-16 you need either new wheels(with different backspacing), new uca's, or spacers for the front. With a 3" lift there is still the same amount of space in the fender and all a 3" lift does is move the tire down but the amount it travels up(into the wheel well) is still the same(except with a top plate spacer technically but that's a different ball game)

So all the 3" lift does is move the floor height up by 3"? This shit is confusing :(

lol. No it moves everything up(if you want to get technical the rear axle is still at the same height and so is the lower ball joint etc.)

When you use a jack the truck gets lifted, right? Well a suspension lift is essentially doing that. When you jack the truck up you have a farther way for the suspension to go down all the way but you also have a shorter distance to go up before the wheels lift off the ground. When you lift the truck you are essentially loosing down travel and gaining up travel(unless you get different length shocks but most bolt ons are the stock length compressed and extended). So a lifted truck(within 3" and standard length shock and no top plate spacer) tires still can go up as much as a stock trucks tires can unless you move the bump stops around.

Sorry for the poor explanation. I was trying to think of a better analogy but one just wasn't coming to me.

If you aren't wheeling it and compressing the suspension then in a way you can squeeze a bigger tire. You just can't use that tire within the trucks full suspension cycle and turning but for the street it shouldn't matter.
