Decided to keep mine instead of pushing for a pyrite 4x4 reg cab 2.7 auto base model with buckets which is as close to a pyrite prerunner reg cab with buckets 5 speed 4 cyl as I can get because toyota say no can have 2010 in your area and none like that in 2011..........so fuck it, keepin what I got.

Started with a Tonnopro cover. It was time for the first oil change since I've had the truck so I went ahead and did that and threw in a new set of plugs. Noticed while I was under there that both of the lower control arms are new, still had the dealer sticker on them all nice and shiny.

I put on my new satoshi after getting it back from the paint shop. I installed my new front (factory) bumper (left the lower valance black), had my steering wheel shake problem investigated by dealership, which they fixed, and tomorrow I start with the BHLM!

Another good way to get rid of pinstripes is an eraser ball. It's basically a gum eraser in the shape of a disc with a chuck for a drill going through it like a lolly pop. Body shops use these to remove stripes and stickers without damaging the paint. Can be used with a battery powered drill but I would be careful with the speed and letting it linger on any particular spot too long (like the heat gun).

Turns out the wheels and tires were not properly balanced. I bought the wheels & tires as a combo deal and they were shipped mounted from the shop I bought them from. They claimed to have balanced them, which they may have, but, obviously (for me), they didn't do it properly. Tech reported that the left front was the only tire close to spot-on, while the other three were of varying degrees of balance. None were terribly out of balance. FWIW, the suspension is all stock and original with 42k miles. No steering wheel shake before the new wheels and tires were added. Someone else posted in this thread that it was worth taking to a Toyota dealership to have the balance checked as a starting point since they know these trucks best. Seems logical, so I did it while getting paint done to kill time. No alignment was needed and all the suspension checked fine.
