What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Got my truck back from the dealer

 

For what? I just got mine back today too

 

Got the charcoal canister and the charcoal canister filter replaced. They covered the canister but I had to pay for the filter..

What did you get done?

 

just ask me i have had my front diff seals replaced 3 times now.........

 

^^Yep, that's what it looked like Scott. Not sure why your's took so long to fix. My dealer did it in about 2 hours.

 

well i also had the steering midshaft replaced
the crack case seals
they were debating about giving me a new front diff.....
if it happenes again they will authorise a new front diff "i hope' or thats the plan
aperntly my manger tells me they are having alot of problems with these seals

Crack case seals! You can't be losing your crack down the road now!


Sounds like a pain in the ass. Did you drive the thing into a volcano that caused all the seals to go bad?

I'm guessing mud is what does it to most of them. It's assumbly the reason mine went right after this weekend. Thankfully we both have good dealer that will fix it under warranty. You going to stay out of the mud as much as possible now?

Charcoal Canister?

I had a leak which turned out to be my timing chain seal. Apparently there is a TSB for it. I suggest you might want to keep an eye out/look into/keep it in mind.

 

cutting the composite gave the wire room to move out of the way. mine works flawlessly now

found out it has a much bigger tank than my old truck, first time ive ever filled it from almost empty and it was $57 .... oh well gotta pay to play.

 

Its something to do with the emissions system, its been replaced 3 times now...


Thats interesting, I guess ill be keeping a eye on it everynow and then.

 

What does it cause?

 

I really dont know, dosnt hurt the truck, but it wouldnt pass emissions with it broken.
