Thanks for your reply. Mine is 2 plus years 35,000. The master cylinder fill tank looks clear. I think I'll wait til it is warmer unless there is a brake in the weather.

    No pun intended, right? LOL
BTW, my reservoir still looked fairly clear. I was able to compare side by side the old to the new in the reservoir because the very front chamber in the reservoir is pretty much impossible to access even with a tube and I gave up on it (and I found that it pretty much isn't used even when the system is empty). So the very front has old fluid, the rest is all new. Almost no difference thru the plastic. But when you compare the two in a clear plastic water bottle...then it's very obvious. And remember, what's in the reservoir never really gets to the wheels. It's what is at the wheels that needs to be flushed (plus what's in the ABS system).

Just cleaned the throttle body and MAF. Lots of black! I didn't remove the TB because a gasket was not readily available. I did get the brush all the way in and behind the plate. Haven't driven it yet, but the HAS to be a difference!

I've read somewhere on TW that it should be done every 3rd or 4th oil change. I don't know when mine was done last...or ever.

Sorry, no pics. I did it because I got out of work early and was "bored" and had to do SOMETHING! It's also 22* out. LOTS of black runoff though. I did use a tooth brush and about 1/4 can of TB cleaner.

Spray...brush...spray to rinse, brush...spray to rinse...etc. No problem. It went pretty quick and easy!

You should be able to reuse that gasket behind the TB unless it is rotted out. It is a rubber ring basically...

Wow ! I'm impressed. I was thinking of buying test strips for the fluid but what's the point in that - following your logic - no point at all - dipping them in the reservoir is pointless if that fluid never makes it to the brake cylinder. Thanks for the follow up reply.

Thanks, great to know. I will probably re-do it when there is a warm day! I have yet to drive it to see if there is a noticable difference!!

I picked up my Tacoma from the local body shop- when I bought it, there was egg-shell damage on the rt doors, the bull bar was on the front and it chewed up the bumper pretty badly, and there were GOD AWFUL painted on light blue pinstripes all around it. So, the doors were re-painted, the stripes wet-sanded off and the front bumper re-done. Then I put on the Toyota aluminum skid plate and the awesome "yoshi-style" grille I bought from Muy Grande on here... all-in-all an awesome day! Bad pic attached b/c I finished in the dark...
