I didnt go by a thread, just used some flat black paint and a couple coats of clear.
Also made sure to use a adhesion promotor. :)

3" rough country lift, Black emblems, blacked out headlights, custom grill with grillcraft mesh grill and a FJ TOYOTA emblem, 130 watt KC off-road lights behind the grill, aFe CAI, Flowmaster 44 cat back dual exhaust, Pioneer 60wt amp, 10" sub, component speakers, and 7" touchscreen head unit, N-Fab steps coated with Rhino liner, studded 265/65R17 Hakka SUV tires for winter driving, new summer tires and wheels to come. I tossed in an aFe Pro 7 CAI last night. I cant tell much of a power gain, but it sure sounds better. Putting on the flowmaster cat back on Monday.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Same here. I washed it, used 2 coats of adhesion promoter first, followed by 3 coats of Krylon Fusion black, then 3 coats of clear coat. It's been on there for 2 months, 75+ miles of highway driving a day, and not a single chip on the paint yet. :D
