Yeah they were the original from the factory. They are supposed to be changed every 30k. I just purchased the truck and the previous owner only did oil changes and nothing else.
I heard the same story about NGK & Denso. Would like to hear the story about that from Toyota. My plugs were NGK & Denso. The new Denso plugs only cost me $3.00 per plug which was a surprise.

Changing is a breeze The oil filetr on my 2012 was a SOB cartridge type under a fwd skid pan why they relocated it I have NO clue. I was just glad to see on the Tacoma it's back where it was on 08 FJ & no skid panel or cover plate on drain plug!! So easy!!!! Now the Wife's TSX filter is a real PIA!! Effing engineers!

I've been thinking about these same Infinitys for a speaker upgrade. Did you change out the front door tweeter as well?

Not yet and not sure I will. The factory tweeter is right up against the plastic cover on the door panel so swapping it out might call for changing out the speaker cover, too. I get great high range out of the 6x9 tweeters that I don't think it would be necessary for me anyway.

I put a 3.5inch Memphis Car Audio Speaker in the stock tweeter position with no work to the speaker cover.

I saw a video on youtube where the guy took wire cutters to the stock tweeter and effectivly made a hole for a new tweeter, it was similar to a ring holding onto a diamond

If you look at my post that I quoted with yours, you will notice that I used the factory speakers as adapters for the 6X9 Memphis and over sized 6.5 Memphis speakers.

I removed the factory speaker cone, spider, and voice coil. Then trimmed the ring so that the aftermarket speaker would fit inside. The 6.5 matched up perfectly and I was able to run mount hardware into the speaker flange, but the 6X9 was a bit larger so I used J-Blolts to hold the aftermarket speaker to the old speaker.

Nice post. I see the bracket gets modified extensively! If I upgrade my tweeters I'm definitely going to need do do that.

If you are going back in with tweeters there is hardly any modification. Just cut out the old tweeter and use whats left to mount the new tweeter.

I saw how you used the old speakers as the mount for your new ones. Good idea. I bought mine on Amazon and wish I had though of that. I'm not sure how well the speakers seal up against the inside of the door panel with the new mounts.

I tried that at first but my tweeters did not match up to the factory speaker and bracket size so I just cut out the plastic screen and mounted the tweeter to the screen. The Rockford tweeter was way smaller.
