What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I saved one of my old tires the other day when getting a new set and thought about this right up to the point of it being heavier and sticking down into view so I didn't even bother having tire shop swap the spare out. My spare is only aged, hasn't seen the ground, have road hazard warranties and AAA so I just punted on this. Not that any convincing for others is going on. I would like to have 5 rims and tires the same but not buying another rim and then my other concerns.

 

What size did you end up going with?

 

The stock wheels were 16's on the TRD OR so I went with those on the new ones too. Tires still have 20k+ miles on them and I plan on getting something a little beefier when those need to be replaced.

 

Ah, sorry I didn't realize you kept your existing tires. Thought you had ordered some new ones.

 

Ordered a Mobtown Offroard Ribbed Tailgate skin with the free cap.

Also, currently working to see about a lift right now... but haven't fully decided on what I want to do for sure.

 

It does stick down further, I already had the FJ wheel. I will eventually put it in the bed of my truck. Want to build something like this.

How in the world....

 

When I first saw it, I said the same thing.

Then I turned around and looked at the rock ledge I just dropped off and I could see that the bumper made contact on rock. Bumper pushed up on tail, breaking those clips. Bumper is tweaked ever so slightly, but only if you get up close on it from the side can you even tell.

New tail was $80.

 

Very nice!!!! I'd love to have a shell like that.

I had one of those, and over time they will ruin your tailgate cable and you'll be buying a new one pretty soon. Too bad. I really liked having mine.

IIRC ....(for example, driver door)..I rolled window all the way down, put one end at the farthest bottom left corner (holding AVS diagonal) then slid them up into the window. <<<<tough to explain! That way you don't have to bend them.

I'm pretty sure I did the same, I don't remember having to bend them at all

 

Do they make noise at highway speeds? Any whistling, etc?

 

My EGR don't at all and I doubt the AVS do as well since they are both closely the same exact design.
