    Too few to list.
Below is how I have mine mounted currently. The buttons are easier to reach but blocks part of the gauge where the important lights are. I only really zero out the average mpg on the MX.

That's a cool place to put it. The next thing I'll "work" on is figuring out what gauges I want on the first page, and then others possibly for a second page and ETC that I'll check depending on what/how I'm driving.

Right now I have trans temp, instant mpg, avg mpg, miles to empty, gas level and intake temp. Problem with the miles to empty and gas level is that there is no fuel sensor on my rig so I have to set the gas level manually by resetting the fuel level manually every time I fill up.

Ok just curious. Its an app for Android phones that displays content from a Bluetooth OBDII adapter in many configurations. I guess if you didnt want to mount a phone or tablet, and have a dedicated device a SG or UG would be better . . .

    link for those curious

    and the adapter:

Nothing different really. Like you said, only difference is if you just want a stand alone device instead of multi tasking on a phone while driving. I don't personally like to use my phone while in my truck as anything else other than a phone/music player.

Only thing about the OBDII bluetooth adaptors is everyone of them has mixed reviews on places like Amazon because for the most part they are all cheap junk. It's just a matter of getting lucky and not having a problem with them, or that it doesn't break in 5 months. And then if you want to move up to a more expensive, quality product, you mineswell buy a dedicated gauge like an Ultra Gauge or Scan Gauge. The Ultra Gauge isn't built all that well either from what I've seen on here, which is part of how they keep costs down.

    Locker anytime, ABS killswitch
Painted the shifter bezel, or whatever it is called, on the center console black and installed outlets on it and behind the armrest. Not the best shot of it. Also did the 400 watt anytime mod while I was in there.

...and it will show trans temp in a 2nd gen? There are lots of threads talking about troubles with ScanGage and UltraGage displaying trans temp, so I have been hesitant to buy one.

There has been a ton of stuff flying around about that. Mine works and I have a 2014. You just have to create the gauge, and there are instructions for it, so it should work... should being the key word.

Okay, second question: can it be mounted using a Ram Mount system? It looks like the UltraGage swivel mounts have a ball-and-socket attachment, and I wonder what size ball it is.

    It's a never ending $100-$200 a week thing & still going.
Yes the ram mount works, just make sure you get the "a" mount. I believe it is 3/4" and the standard ball mount is 1".

A little further to the right so when the sun visor is down you can still see it. Took a few days before the mount sticky stuck to the dots but it hasn't fallen off since.

I manged to stuff all the wires into the headliner and a-pillar so I didn't have to disassemble anything to do the install.
