    What I would like is a pad that doesn't bang around every time I reverse and then go forward again. Gets worse as the pads wear - 32k on originals. Do any of these aftermarket pads address this?

    No. Thats because the rotors float on the hub. Next time you have your wheel off. Spin the hub back and forth as abruptly as you can. The rotor moves and smacks the lug studs.

    Doesn't do it all the time, just when enough force is used by the pads to drag them

    Nope. Toyota's design. I wish it didn't do it but it assures your rotors will never be seized to the hub, so it is for good cause
