What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

No I just got the RAM X-Grip (

$75 RAM-B-166-UN7U with Medium Arm for Vehicle Windshields

RAM-B-166-UN7U) suction mount from Amazon ($45). Plan on either placing it down by the A pillar, or try and tuck it up by the rear view mirror somehow.

 

What mounts did you use? Been wanting to do the same thing and didn't realize it could be done so affordably.

 

Color matched my head light and stock grill. Also threw in some extra RGB leds I had sitting around. Plus I found out that the body shop that "fixed" my front end from a wreck I was in a few years back actually fucked up my grill surround/bezell when they installed it. So I had to remove it and order a whole new grill. That's why I don't have the grill surround on at the moment.

 

This LED bar doesnt use the classic side mounts. It has a rail in the back with 3 feet (pictured below)


I used 2 of these and screwed them directly into the crash-bar behind the bumper, then i just cut out the mesh and slotted the lower valance plastics for the feet and squeezed it in there.

 

Anyone running brake pad's and brake rotors from brake motive on ebay? or should I just go get ebc green stuff brake pads and ebc dimpled/slotted rotors?

 

Yes. The little latch things never want to stay shut

 

Bend the levers so that they latch tighter. Fixed the issue for me

Tinted the windows today 5% front and back 20% on the doors.

 

Are those covers over your fogs or did you change out the entire light assembly?

 

Vinyl covers i cut and applied myself.

Went camping this weekend with my son's Boy Scout Troop. While there we went and filled up four of the five propane tanks. Thank goodness for my truck...everything but the blue bag is my stuff. The last picture I'm adding was the view from my tent on Saturday morning.

 

Chopped the exhaust after the axle this afternoon. Took me a minute to convince myself to cut it, but I'm keeping the truck forever so it didn't really matter. Couldn't believe how much drone (1300-1500rpms) it reduced from my JT2525 muffler. Sounds a bit deeper as well

 

Here goes nothing. Attempt at painting twitter rings black. The "solution" I came up with, without breaking them off the door. Hopefully it'll work.

Wait that's not right. Hahahaha I'm just kidding man. That's an awesome way to keep everything as close to factory as possible!

 

First coat of paint is on. Waiting for it to dry and then applying a second one tonight still. Possibly a third, we'll see.

Don't really care if I have to drive tomorrow without a door panel. Thinking of doing 2-3 coats like I did with the gauge cluster rings, just in case.

Tough part is going to be peeling off the painters tape without cracking/chipping the paint on the rings I'm sure.
