What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Debating on switching them to LED pods. Run pods on all 3 available slots. 2 diagonal going left and right and the middle straight back.

From the front it kind of makes my truck look like they have Mickey Mouse ears

Has anyone wired up the Mictuning push button switches so that they dim with the rest of the dash lights? I bought a couple to replace the supplied switches with my Rigid flood and spot lights and would love to have them dim with the rest of the dash switches. Same wiring as the CH4x4 switches below.

 

I didnt connect mine to dimmer. But im pretty sure mine has a yellow wire instead of 2 reds. The red on mine is the dimmer wire.

Meh, i don't see what people have any issues with it, is easy to use, cheap, easy to remove(if you want to, otherwise it actually sticks pretty well), and is easy to touch up.

 

Ha. Easy yo remove within a few days of putting it on. Shits impossible to fully remove from my oem rims.

 

Naw man, use some wd-40 and it will wipe off like it's water

 

I was wondering this as well. I have the same switches that are hooked up with the dash lights but do not dim.

The dash light circuit is the green and green/black wires in the back of the other switches. I hooked up the positive green wire to my new switch, then grounded the black wire on the new switch. Our Tacomas control the dimmer circuit with a variable "ground", so the black wire on new switch would need to be hooked into the dash circuit too. The problem is, I'm not sure if the "ground" on the new switch is just for the light circuit or if it's a common ground for the switch and light circuit. I didn't want to experiment.

 

Exactly my thoughts. The switches are cheap enough, I might open one up and see if it can be modified to add the variable ground to the LED for the lower half, leaving the upper full bright when it's on.

 

Havent tried that i suppose. I used wd40 yo get the dip off my grill surround and still had to scrub alot

Also, you may want to consider adding resistors in line with the lights if you're opening the switch up anyway. My aftermarket switches of this type are too bright to fit in with the OEM ones.
