I really like this sticker but I always thought it was rather strange. The three characters written are To, Yo, and Ta, but they are written in the Katakana character set designated for foreign or non traditional Japanese words. It's an old logo before Toyota's rise to car market dominance, so who knows what they were thinking.

 

I was sent a pm by tcbob that to prove me wrong he would send me a sticker righy away .. that was a few weeks ago still waiting

I was shocked how well it smoothed it out! Mine didn't seat all the way flush after wailing on it for quite a while. I have about a fingernail width overhang. I was told it would be fine. Sofar, so good.

 

What I would LIKE to do today is purchase some rear-facing lights for my recently installed Relentless Fab bed bars. I'm looking at the following:

Those do look pretty sweet and seem to have better numbers compared to the Ignites.

Not at a Korean inspection shop.

 

I don't get how a safety inspection would be failed for a simple light operation modification.

 

Remember to upgrade your climate control knobs. That's what all the cool cats are doing nowadays.

 

Not cheap, but the performance looks good. They are also different than the ubiquitous light bars and cubes. I'm getting tired of that look, but still want the advantages of LEDs. My current plan is for 3 KC Pro-6 lights on my Avid Bumper Guard for a mix of the old school round and modern LED look, and then to put the Flex Pairs on hood-hinge mounts for ditch lighting.

 

Because you're only supposed to have 4 lights on in the front at once. That's why when you flash your brights, the fogs turn off. This bypasses that and allows all 6 lights to be on. Now whether that'll fail or not, I'm not sure.

 

Maybe. It depends on how lenient the inspector is. Technically, this mod is a legal no-no.

My local Toyota dealer is really anal about everything; that why I no longer go there unless it is something that absolutely positively HAS to be done by the dealer (recalls, etc.) Plus, with those "free" inspections they always manage to find something that needs "fixed" so they can charge you for it.

For the past couple years I've been taking my vehicles to Merchant's Tire because they aren't as picky.

 

Just like PA. I grew up playing the inspection game and finding the shops that let stuff slide. I've been in Ohio for 22 years now, and there is no inspection at all here. There is e-check in two counties (Cleveland and Cincinatti), but that's it. People do whatever they want to their vehicles, and I have gotten into that habit too. I am starting to worry about our eventual relocation and having to un-mod my truck. I also have a '68 Firebird that's been so thoroughly hot-rodded that it probably could never be registered in PA. I hope PA and VA are the exceptions.

 

I once had a "4X4" decal across the top of my windshield and I got pulled over for that.
