Since getting my SCS Ray10's a month or 2 ago the rusted brake drums have been pissing me off. So today me & my pneumatic wire wheel took care of that problem!

The picture didn't pick up the rust very well because it's in the shadow of the wheel, but to the naked eye its nasty.
    20170716_140117.jpg

With the wheel off you can see the nasty.
    20170716_141239.jpg

After a half hour of wire wheel I wiped it down with acetone & set up my paint booth:

    20170716_152158.jpg

I did 2 very heavy coats of Krylon hi temp black. Let em dry for a bit & reinstalled.

    1500247120840.jpg

Again, pics don't pick up much detail behind the wheels but its so much less of an eye sore (drums will never look great though). All in all it only cost me my time really, since I already had paint in my garage. :benchpress::taco:

Bought this 2013 xsp in may. I tried to adapt to the sticker but it was a little too flashy for my taste. I removed the sticker with a blow dryer and the remaining adhesive with elbow grease and goo gone.

I also plastidipped the xsp rims. It was my first time dipping and my job has a few flaws. Not sure if I want to pay to powdercoat these bronze or buy bronze rims and sell stocks. Gonna ride and decide.

Other mods made so far: 3in antenna, weathertech mats, & video/audio package (two 10's, custom box to fit behind back seat, 1000w amp, 4 alpine type r speakers, pioneer nex4201 head unit, hdmi and USB lines installed)

Looking to put on rack next. Does This site have a for sale section? *newb*

Good looking xspx! I debadged everything but the tailgate xspx logo and bedside decals two days after buying it. Two years in and I've gotten to the point I want to get rid of them all. Also, good choice on wheel color, I've got some bronze FN Countersteer Type X wheels I'll be throwing on shortly. Welcome to Tacoma World, as they say, be ready to drain your bank account after hanging out here

I towed one of those double axle dump trailers a few hours to pick up a bedroom suite for the GF.

Mattress, box spring, dresser, tall dresser, two night stands, headboard, and a mirror.

Probably the most I've towed with mine and that dump trailer was heavy empty! I averaged 15mpg without OD.

Thanks! Your truck looks great. Looking forward to seeing the wheels installed.

Where did you get your grille and roof rack?

Thanks, I got them from my local dealer. They gave me good pricing, basically the same as you'd find searching online.

Very nice! I've been wanting to do this to my rear drums. How exactly do you take those covers off?

    This Weekend's Chores:
    Cleaned and detailed engine bay
Finished dedicated vehicle first aid kit
    Mounted the in-cabin fire extinguisher
Fabricated water bottle holders in camping shell
    Installed cabin air filter
Weatherstripped the tailgate (to keep out dust and water)
Continued work on the bed platform and shelving

Cleaned my MAF in between helping my buddy change brake pads on his Ram 3500... For a one ton truck that sees a lot of towing and hauling I was surprised his brakes were still functional after 80,000km on original pads. New "heavy duty ultra premium" pads from NAPA should last him forever.
