What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Thanks to ilovetacos, I installed this!!!! Super easy install.

 

Factor 55 1.5" fair lead and Flat Link

 

Got my new leaf springs, u bolt flip, bump stops and shock relocation done.

 

Changed collector gaskets. No more leak.
URD gasket vs original.

 

How was the install?
Going to try to bang off the Aal and replacement shocks tomorrow.

 

Plasti dipped the front badge.

 

The AAL should be a straight forward install. The shocks should also be pretty easy as long as the stem bolt at the top of the shock isn't rusted on.

 

truck only has 30,xxx km on it, so I would be surprised if they are!
First time doing leafs, only reason I ask

 

Finally got around to testing out the front hitch portion of the Mobtown recovery bar.


I like the height alot and I'm thinking of how I can incorporate a hinging cutting board into whatever cooler/rod rack I get.

 

Did that climate control knob thingy lol

Will change to Amber eventually. Pretty simple and cool little mod

 

New ES rad mount bushings. Best $25 I've spent in years. Horrid front end pop is gone and feels less sloppy up front. Whole job was only about 20 minutes.

Then pulled out entire winch cable and hosed it and the spool down with Greased Lightning. Pressure washed it to get all the grime out. Put the ol' gal to use 3 times on some rookie trucks in wet red clay last outing so it was plenty dirty.

Hopefully next weekend I'll get around to installing my extended brake lines so the new rear leaf packs can go in. I say "new" but they have been in the garage 15 months now...

 

How is the install with these bushings?

 

Extremely easy. No instructions included, and I think I want to try flipping them eventually. I used a 2x4 to lift up on the core support once both sides were unbolted and lower bushings removed. Old upper bushings came out pretty easy. Lubed up new bushings with white lithium grease and they slid right in. Didn't take pics along the way. Sorry.

I wasn't too sure they were what was causing my popping, as the OEM ones looked healthy at 55k. But sure as shit, took it for a drive after and pops were all gone.

 

Fueled it up with Ethanol Free 90 Octane and drove it to work.

Installed Allpro Expos, u bolt flip and Wheelers super bumps. Very pleased. Such a step up from my previous setup, air bags with an AAL.

 

Certain that I lost "cool guy" points because my son pointed out that they aren't perfectly centered on the tire.

 

Tell me about your fenders, how much trimmed, what did you use and did you cut metal at all?

 

New member here. Just put on new Michelin LTX/AT tires,265/70-17's 2 weeks ago. Ordered all four 5100 bil's for it. Anyone know if the adjustable capability will change the height noticeably.It is a 2010 trd sport dbl. cab btw.

 

Yeah it will. Check out Suspension forum. Should find plenty of examples in there with Billies at various settings, spring combos, etc. They are probably the most popular low-price setup on the site.
