image.jpg Finished up my homemade topper rack (added front and rear wind fairings) today. Had the sides and crossbars finished and installed several months ago. All aluminum from some scrap I had. All of it is removable if I ever need to. It's pretty crude if you get up close but it does the job. All in all, prob only spent $100 on it. Thanks! Yep, plasti dip, 3 cans total. Easy touch up. It's my second one that I've had plasti dipped. Like the look of it. If I had the money I would prob line-X it, but this is a good DIY

Yeah bed liner would look good too. Might go that route on my next one. Plasti dip is just so cheap and easy to work with. Also, it's surprisingly durable if you lay down enough coats. I sprayed my grill surround with it about 4 years ago, and it looks exactly the same. Maybe one or two small chips. And I have run it through brush car washes too many times to counts and it doesn't hurt it at all

I tried to pull the fuel pump without dropping the tank. I failed.

Got that sumbitch swapped out eventually though.

(please ignore how dirty she is)

Didn't have the toyota tool or a strap wrench so I Uber'd to the local hardware store and got me the most ridiculous channel locks I've ever seen. They worked a treat though.

A convenient flame free way to keep your hands warm while you're wrenching on your truck in 20 degree weather. Also lights up the garage nicely.

I am north west Wisconsin. Rice Lake area. It is about an hour and half to 2 hours north east of the twin cities. I was on May way back from deer camp which is north of Ladysmith. The deer did some damage but I guess that is what insurance is for.
