well you are in tx right? I can think of a couple of guys that know what they are doing over there... I cut some corners where I thought it was pretty safe to do so, but I went quality on fuel upgrades and the turbo. all my piping both hot and cold is either ebay or yonaka (which is like a ricer's paradise) and I got a few guys to go in and buy the mapecu3 with me and that saved a couple hundy... it adds up when you save $100 here and there on a project this big

    Yessir, im in TX!

Sounds like you played it safe and saved money on the things that are hard to screw up, so thats pretty smart. You definitely have to be careful not to cheap out on the really important stuff like you mentioned. Id really like to turbo my 4 cylinder, but its already got 225k miles on it so im not too sure how it would hold up to boost

you see my odo in the vids right? that 4 cyl is apparently super stout since it shares so much with the 3rz. I'm not sure what will go first but there are guys in the turbo bs thread that do I bet

    Some really cool shit
I got the key only one, as well. It seems kinda cheesy. And my back up camera worked well for a couple weeks. Just a week ago it quit working. Get a black screen when I'm in reverse now. Don't know if its coincidence or not. Everything looks right. Haven't checked any fuses yet.

    Yeah buddy, that's pretty impressive!

I'll have to drop in there and do some reading. I've also heard good things about being able to get some good numbers out of the four cylinders without having to upgrade many of the internals.. This is definitely an appealing option since the only s/c for 4 bangers is the urd one, and its damn expensive

I've been browsing TW for years but this is my 1st time posting. Such great products, MODs, and tutorials that I had to finally join the party.

Just changed the diff & T-case fluids, as well as lubed up the drive shaft this weekend. All thanks to How-To's from TW.

Found out that I have a big-ol' hole in my frame so looks like I'm getting a new one in a few months. Again thanks to TW, I'm going to make sure that the dealer does everything that Toyota is offering (break lines, bolts, etc.) and I'm hoping to have them install some 5100's.

Pulled the trigger on a sweet HomerTaco Satoshi and soooo happy that I did. Couldn't bring myself to F'up his work so I rigged up a cheap Raptor LED setup that can be removed. I believe Homer offers a better setup if you are looking to add one to his Satoshi, and his work is top notch.LED1.jpg

The front and back are interchangeable. I also find the orange and blue are too. I go through those things like socks.
I don't find it sketchy at all and I'm not lying.

Tried out a new foam cannon I got in the mail yesterday. Nothing like washing the cars when it's 38 degrees outside.

I'll have to give that a try. I also have some 303 cleaner and Protectant coming. That seems to me the magic bizneez around here.

That's a 4cyl turbo? I assumed V6 SC since that's the most common. Thats nasty!

nah its a turbo 6, but the 2tr can put down basically the same numbers on stock internals since it has forged rods and stuff in stead of cast like the 1 gr, you just have to/can safely crank the boost a little higher in the 4cyl

Installed my C4 Fab bumper with Relentless Fab reinforcement brackets this morning. Still have the dual battery setup to wire in - another day. 27 degrees outside, but I need to take advantage of a no rain day. The lift made things really easy - worth the rental.

Aren't the recovery points and/or the winch locations potentially buried in whatever you're trying to pull yourself out of being mounted on the lower panel like that?

They could be I suppose. That's another reason for a shovel. It's pretty common to have pad eyes on the bumper - in line with the frame.

My questions are pointed, I'm designing a competing product that will take those concerns into account.

I don't think you want the recovery points to high above the frame. The distance above would act like a lever. But no doubt that recovery points buried in mud or below water are challenging.
