I had always wanted to do this, but just thought it would be way to much of a PITA. How'd you source the parts?

It all started with a 2009-11 Katzkin leather kit that I got from a friend for the cost of shipping. (He had purchased it and then his truck was totaled before the install. He ended up purchasing a 4runner after). That was in Dec 2016. So, I had the tan seats and grey interior and it was okay. We bought a 2015 Highlander Limited last fall that had the tan/black combo and I liked it a lot so the planning began. Install started this spring - bought a black carpet kit to replace the grey, purchased a new shift knob and center console cover leather to match. The rest (so far) is SEM Color Coat. If you really wanted to change it out, the tan/fawn pieces pop up on ebay every now and then. However there is a difference between the two colors and a lot of times whomever is selling it, isn't sure of the year. The Color Coat seems to be holding up well - but usually it is just me in the truck. The real test will be if/when my two huskies are in there. I have stopped for now - the garage has just gotten too hot and humid to work comfortably in. the headliner will be the real issue.

Mainly what Jonemaughan said, grew up around them. Used them almost daily in some form or fashion so I am aware of surroundings and outcomes.
I keep the mindset that if I have to draw it for any reason its going boom, so I will exhaust all options before putting myself in that potential situation. I would attempt to flee in the truck before attempting to draw mine. I carry mine 24/7 so this is just where it goes when I am in the vehicle for quick access and consistency.

The top of the flaps bolt to the bottom of the bumper. My guess is it is "version 1" of the air dams on the 3rd gen sport models? Either way, gone and not missed.

16 Year old Grandson painted my engine cover. Not the greatest job, had problem with the paint on one side of the cover not sticking or not laying down right. Used all the right supplies but evidently didn't get it right. Finally had to use brake fluid to soften and remove the paint clean and recoat it with adhesion promoter, then prime and repaint. This was his project so he did fine, learned some lessons on prepping he is not happy with the TRD Logo either. Told him we will get one from the wrecking yard and try again this fall.

He is living with us and loves to work on cars, so he is learning. New Stereo is coming so that will be the next project and some work on Wife's Mini Cooper. Then maybe the V8-60 midget sitting in my storage unit.

Get him tinting windows. Easy way to make some pocket change as a 16 year old.
