Exhaust went on today. My muffler guy Gary Geving from A1A performance muffler made an extension pipe for my DCLB to adap the Magnaflow 17115 Off Road Pro system and welded it. Even better looking than factory. Cant tell it wasn't originally supposed to come like that. Pics up tomorrow.

Thanks for posting this. I was considering one of those expensive mirror mounts too. I don't like using a suction cup at all.

Got home and stole the reflector off my wifes cruiser bike. It fit perfect. Fab'd up a small bracket. Just need to paint and hardwire it.

Plan on mounting the remote in this spot like I had it on my FJ.

    No, it would not.

Shorter whips have more wire coiled around the shaft.

I want to do the hardwire kit and put the radar underneath and the ScangaugeII on the top of my mirror. The mirror already blocks so much of my vision though

No problem. Suction cups were the bane of my existence prior to making these brackets. :D

Good looking bracket man! You can actually bend the metal bracket that comes with the radar detector and mount it directly to the plate that the reflector mounted to, if that makes sense. With yours, you'll want to rotate those two holes nearest the detector. What I mean by that is right now they are parallel with the outside line of the radar detector and you'll want them a few degrees CCW of this same line so that the radar detector points straight ahead rather than toward the way the mirror faces. If you mount the stock bracket directly to the reflector bracket you can actually bend and tweak this to get it pointing the right direction. Harder to explain in words but when you've got it mounted up you will likely see what I'm talking about as well as the best way to resolve based on your ability to fab up a bracket. Then replace the one on your wife's cruiser so she doesn't get wiped out just so you could save a few bucks on a bracket. :D

That's a pretty easy place to mount it but I prefer to have it near my right hand since it's usually resting right there and can easily reach the button w/o much fuss. Seems the spot above the steering wheel can get dicey unless you're going perfectly straight w/o any distractions. If you're turning at all it could get a little more sketchy then it needs to be. I usually take the mute button install much more serious but this time around I took the easy way out since it was just a quick & dirty install in the driveway. Here's a couple others I've done:

    Toyota Camry Hyrbid

    MKIV Supra

I'll give someone a gold star if they can spot the mute button in my A4:

Yeah, I thought it was a nice touch. Good old Glock 17. The beauty is in it's simplicity. I may try to find a better place for it but for now it works.

Thanks for that link. One thing I will be searching info for is a list of which fuse locations in the cab are "always on" and "only on with ignition" for tapping into. I'd like to do it right this time and get a Blue Sea fuse block soon.
