Here's a couple pictures to better describe what I did. The black rectangle is the CH4x4 switch. I have a base model truck so there are some open spots in the connectors so I used part number 82998-12340 (terminal repair).
You can use t-taps or solder or whatever method you want.
In the picture, J2 is above J3, in reality (my truck) J2 is the lower plug. Just make sure you have the colors correct, green is + and green/white is -
The connectors are somewhat difficult to get to. I had the drop the fuse block to gain access.

I'm not sure what you mean. The switch has 4 wires, correct?

My dads got a 07 jk rubicon and on memorial weekend he hit a deer right away in the morning going up north. Hes also got an aftermarket bumper.. We stopped and had a look all the damage consisted of was deer hair. Hitting a deer going 60 and just hair... A wise investment on the bumper!

The bottom that says lights lights up when ignition us turned on. Ran off the add a fuse. The light symbol up top is lit up when switch is turned on. Can be turned on w/o ignition being turned

    1 is power
2 is power to the relay when switch is on
3 is power from your dash lights
    4 is ground

The switch can be powered with the key on or off it depends how you have it wired up.
I have to see how you have it wired.
Do you want the switch to work regardless of the IGN being on or off or do you want the dash light circuit to wok with the key off (they already do this)?

3 is the one I believe is coming from the add a fuse @ ignition fuse under steering wheel. If I push button lights still turn on w/o ignition being on

#3 is for your dash lights, you need to remove it from the add-a-fuse and connect it to the green wire at connector J2, if you want the switch to be dimmable, you need to connect the #4 wire to the green/white wire at connector J3

The fuse you used is probably hot all the time. Have a picture of the fuse in question?

    FYI Add a Fuse

    https://youtu.be/2mBa5rRZbCk

The CH4x4 switch is rated at 3A. When doing add a fuse, don’t use the same 10A fuse if connecting to tail lights. All I had on hand is a 5A fuse. If the switch goes bad, the wires could melt with a higher rated fuse. You want the fuse to protect the circuit. And I’ve seen too many videos of people using the wrong size fuse and putting the add a fuse in backwards. There are other videos explaining this and how to install. Yes they are safe if installed correctly. Of course this is JMO.

I wanted the switch to light up at night so I could find it easier in the dark to turn on the ditch lights— wHen I turned on my lights, so I thought the easiest way was to go to the tail lights.

    51DCB723-6879-41D6-B099-8D586172C124.jpg

There’s a 10A in one slot for tail light and 5A in line to the switch. (Need to find 3A) This is how mine looks. My 12VDC is the at the bottom thus the load is at the top.

I took the grill badge off, but sprayed the others while still on the truck. Super easy process!
