Do you know what cover that is? I just purchased a tacoma last week and it seems to be the same cover.

I’ve done a few fun upgrades lately but haven’t posted them up yet so here it goes.

I had a Cab mount chop for new icon rebound wheels with 34 inch wrangler duratrac tires. I love how it turned out!

One of the guys I work with has a 17 sport DCSB. Every time he drives to lunch, I think "man I wish this truck would just pick a gear" The slightest throttle touch and its down shifting. Seems to Rev higher on acceleration than the 4.0 2nd gen motor. Which would make since because its smaller. I think they missed the mark a little, but its still a Toyota and will more than likely out last the competition.

Another recent mod to my tacoma is the softopper I put on. I like how it has kind of a military look and goes well with the black and blue theme on this truck.

The most scary mod I’ve done so far!
Drilled some holes in the side of my truck to put in the Dobinson’s snorkel! This snorkel is almost half the cost of the safari snorkel. Projects don’t usually go smoothly for me but I managed to drill holes in the proper places. I love how it looks, and it will be great for all the dusty roads I travel on, not sure if I’ll go in water deep enough to need it to snorkel for water purposes.

Last but not least, I just finished installing some daystar airbag cradles.

A long time ago, I put in firestone airbags to cope with my sagging rear end from the crappy springs that were in the truck. It was nice because I could adjust my rear ride height and carry heavy loads without sagging. Then I had the springs replaced by Toyota fully paid by them, then the rusty frame replacement paid by them, then I paid just for parts for a new Toytec lift extended travel suspension installed.

That’s when I realized my airbags were going to be ripped apart when off-roading with my rear extended travel. That’s when I discovered daystar airbag cradles that we’re a perfect solution.

I made a video about it on my YouTube channel of the install and test.

Check it out if you want, I’m super happy with them.

Almost done. Just gotta cut out a corner piece and weld that in.

And Hilux Snorkel. Getting it to fit right with the McNeil fenders suck. Gonna work on it more this weekend. Then connecting the hoses. 695D7E63-79E7-4C38-9A11-9AAC6E6184FF.jpgCDE98390-5444-4080-BA6A-E6E3519520CC.jpg7FA790BE-982D-4791-9658-14CF4446C3A6.jpg

That’s what I was looking for with the rock lights, small but bright, not super noticeable. I’d love to see the set up when you’re done and how you went about it

Got my Bartact seat covers installed yesterday. Pretty sweet. They fit tight and don’t slide around while I’m in them. Stitching is good and they feel pretty comfortable.

The pup stood guard during the install.

I have a 2009 TRD Sport with stock 17”wheels. I juts came across a set of 275/70/17’s off a wrecked Tacoma. Will they fit my truck without any issues or rubbing? I have a 2” lift on the front now.
Here is my truck as it sits now with 265/65/17

I adjusted the gap on my skid plate... Not sure why it came with spacers that gave it such a gnarly gap.

Matt’s/BPF’s? The spacers prevent it from contacting the lower valance

So it can take a hit and flex a little, take all the damage to the skid plate and spare the rest of the truck. If you never off road then you will be fine. Plus leaving them off has the added benefit of not having to get frustrated trying to get those spacers to stay in the right position when you are installing the skid plate.

That makes sense... It'll be fine for the very mild abuse I put it through. It reminded me of an animal with a huge under-bite ever time I'd walk by it, haha. So I put smaller ones in, closing it down a 1/4" or so.
BTW, I like those plate brackets, and see they can be used in conjunction with this. I'll have to hit you up for one sometime.
