Cleaning through the father in-laws shop today and found this old school points and condenser. Thought it was kinda cool. 8B09A505-BCE9-4824-9216-68C99BE3B672.jpg

Didn’t work on the truck directly, just worked on something special for it. Can’t wait to put it in this winter! Guess I’ll have to finally make a build thread.

Finally installed my lift from Headstrong and went to 265/75/16. Happy so far, but they discovered some frame rust I'll have to address.:(

Because in my opinion it’s just some cheesy decal someone came up with and is cluttering up his truck lol

Being retired and with the wifey out of town I was able to tackle three little projects over the last several days. The first one was in prepartation to parking my truck at my sons house while I go visit relatives in Iowa. I always use a windshiled screen, but since the truck was going to be parked outside in the hot Texas sun I wanted something for the windows. So I used "reflectix" to cover them.
    IMG_20190829_083127.jpg IMG_20190829_082910.jpg IMG_20190829_082506.jpg

I thought why stop there, so I did the same for my Leer tooper.
    IMG_20190829_085150.jpg

When not in use, I loosely roll them up and store in an bag used for a folding chair.
    IMG_20190829_085925.jpg

I also installed some Cali Raised bed stiffeners. Price was right and the install went flawless. Since I've had my topper on since right after I bought the truck, I used an idea I saw here on TW. I used a rachet strap and pulled the sides of the bed in a little before installing the stiffeners.
    IMG_20190829_082019.jpg

The last project wasn't really necessary, but after seeing it here on TW, it seemed like a good idea. My AC works great, but I justified it by thinking I can use it when I vistit my other son in AZ or when I'm stuck in traffic some where.
    IMG_20190823_110415.jpg
Of course I wired it to a toggle switch to complete the install.
    IMG_20190829_101042.jpg

The hardest part (or least fun) was getting up under the dash. And the fact that's "Africa Hot" right now in South Texas.

Just a bunch of old crap
Finalized the locking Alu-Box mount system I've been tossing around. Found that the Alu-Cab longer load bars fit PERFECTLY in the bed on that platform rest on the inside of the bed. Put 2 in, and got the locking brackets from EZ-Awn that are used to mount certain sized Alu-Boxes on roof racks. I wanted easier access, so I installed them this way. It also leaves me space under the cans to slide in 2 zero-g chairs and my aluminum table. With the Pop-N-Lock on the tailgate, those stay secure so nobody can grab my chairs or table. Cans are locked closed with padlocks, and the brackets lock with padlocks. Everything locks down so I don't have to worry about gear getting snatched when I run into a store or go eat at a restaurant.

Super easy to unlock them and use them as a stepstool to get on the tailgate to deploy the tent or get things off the top rails of the tent. They make great quick benches to sit at the tailgate and make a sandwich, too. I can also access the cans while still mounted to get gear out without having to remove them. Easy access to chairs and table if needed without having to unlock cables and drag them out from underneath other gear. Everything in the bed is now accessible without having to unload anything else.
