Do you have a 84” high garage opening? Is the 26” measured from the top of your bed rails? You don’t by chance know the the distance from the ground to the top of your bed rails do you?

    Thanks in advance!

Anyone have any remedies for protecting silver mica fender flares?

They are not really bad but I want to protect them so they stay looking nice.

    Just ran out to measure....
    - Garage door height seems to be about 81".
    - The 26" is measured from the top of the bed rails.
    - Ground to top of bed rails; front of box- 53", rear of box 54".

My truck's check engine light for the crankshaft position sensor went out without me doing anything to the truck so I got it smogged after the wheel alignment was done. I can finally drive it. So I hit the freeway, whoops so I hit the parking lot that's called a freeway here in So Cal and the truck handled beautifully while it was sitting still. Oh well, maybe I'll see how it handles tomorrow.

    More than I can afford
Decided to properly mount the Maxtrax. Bungees were tight but I was worried about them walking off so I got the mounts only to find they don't fit without blowing giant holes in my crossbars or buying another $ mount.

    So fabricobbling time.
Step 1, translate from the moon dimensions the aussies use to 'murica numbers because I couldn't find my metric tape measure (I do have one)
Put 'murica numbers on 1x1 Aluminum angle.

Drove to Tahoe with some shitty road conditions on Friday and then drove back today with no snow on the roads. Took this on the way down since all my other trucks have been shot under it in the past.

I got to drive my truck tonight on the freeway and a short trip on a twisty canyon road. It was my first good drive in it since lift/tires. It rides fantastic, by far the best riding lifted truck I've ever driven. I am surprised how much power it has because it's still got the stock 3:73. I can definitely feel some axle wrap going on. The handling without a sway bar is interesting and I love it, it has an initial sway and then it feels rock solid. I took a 25 mph turn at 35 mph and it felt fine. It has zero vibration. Bigger bumps affect the steering wheel more than I'm used to but that's probably caused by the tires (37's) and the rack is a little worn (found out today). The alignment kicked the tires forward a bit so I've got more trimming to do on the front of the front fenders. I'm extremely happy with the outcome of this first rendition of my 2nd gen so far. There are more parts I still need to install in the parts pile.

Finally got around to it. Swapped out those boring halogen H1's for a set of deep blue OPT7 55w HID's. Picture doesn't do it justice.

That glass cleaner is the worst automotive cleaning product I have ever (and will never again) purchased.

    Literally the next post.

It should be called "liquid glass fragrance that leaves streaks"

Seriously, straight water is more effective.

Hopefully you are using the ammonia free windex. Otherwise, your tint will turn purple.

Unless tint manufacturers have made that vast of an improvement. I may be speaking from outdated knowledge, but remember all the cars with purple tint back in the 90s and early 2000s? Yeah, they cleaned their tinted windows with windex (or similar glass cleaner with ammonia).

Good to know about the ammonia, my tint hasn't turned purple but no need in taking any chances lol

A drop or two of dish soap, a little vinegar, and water= the best glass cleaner on the planet.
