    Sweet! Shred some for me!!!

I officially retired this winter by selling my old nitro...like parting with an old friend.
Still hurts, too fresh in the memory,

I just dont heal like I used to, I have no control and too many other hobbies that require me to not be broken.

Switched over to something with a throttle I can ride all weekend and never go down.
Well, flipped it once and rolled it once but its easier to bail off of.
    Sigh
    Sucks to get old

Im assuming you're shopping around for one figured id share my .02 cents.
I did some shopping around for a bit, the BlackVue and Thinkwares are the top quality, but also most expensive.

I went with a less expensive alternative, Viofo A129Duo a few months before they came out with a 4k Pro version. Has front and rear 1080p30fps cameras, and Buffered Parking Mode. The latter being the only feature requirement when I was searching for cameras. My reasoning is whats the point of filming after an incident occurs and only getting the aftermath. Yes its better than nothing, but I wanted to go a step further.
This buffered parking mode setting goes off of motion (not the most advanced motion detection, but it does pretty good). When its hardwired, you can set it to "auto event detection" which is the motion detection setting, where it's always rolling, but triggers the "record" function when it detects motion within 20 feet-ish of the front of the car (people walking, neighbors driving by etc). But because it's always rolling with the hardwired connection, the motion event trigger will write the 15seconds of video leading up to that 'motion event' to the card, in addition to the 45seconds after the motion event. Pretty sweet for $150.

Discreet setup and buffered parking mode made it worth it versus the more expensive options. Can barely see it hiding behind the tint strip, though this picture seems to be a little less, its not crazy in your face

1080p on both cameras aint bad, its only 30fps though and a, so some motion blur, higher bitrate helps but not much.

    Screen Shot 2020-03-24 at 8.56.21 AM.jpg
wont be getting any license plates outta the rear cam with a topper though, and with much less light its a noisy mess and impossible to see anything but headlights really at night time.
Front cam is okay, cant get plates at night time as easy

    Rear before sunset

After sunset its basically pitch black

Evening footage when the lighting gets lower and footage gets a little mushy but still usable.

So far, for me the latest version of the firmware has been stable, though in the past they were working out some kinks with the parking mode. Id give it my thumbs up for the amt of money, but if you're willing to spend the extra dough id go Blackvue or thinkware, they seem more longer lasting.

Instructions say to snug it up using a crescent wrench and then just a smidge tighter. According to their website 15 ft lbs of torque.

According to their website you do not want to torque to your vehicles specs. You will strip the threads on the valve. Website says "snug" or 15 ft lbs for the valve for Tacoma

Both will slow em down and make em think twice about messing with our vehicles.

Whatever it takes to move em along to easier pickings

It's from a 07-10 Tundra. This switch has an AMBER backlight illumination.

** EDIT: I just saw your avatar info and it says you have a 2015 Taco, so you need the part number below.

If you want the one with WHITE backlight illumination, that's for the 3GEN Taco and the part number for that is 84267-0C020.

Looking good! Nice work! My personal opinion is that if you paint the silver showing in between the bumper and the fender black it will make that gap there disappear and clean up the look just a bit. Just my two cents and not even worth that much so if you like it the way it is great.
