What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I’ve got a few mods done recently and have photos to upload when I get time, but this is about one I’ve got arriving in the mail today.

I wasn’t sure where to post this, so I figured this being a highly trafficked thread for misdeed would be good. 12vsolutions.com is having a covid-19 sale currently, bringing the already on sale price of their plug-n-play remote start system with long range remotes down to about $285, with free shipping. These had been on sale from $379 to $349 plus shipping, so this is a screaming deal. Easy install too, hoping to find time to get mine in this weekend. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up in case they were considering one.

Didn't get pictures but I changed the oil with Mobil 1 full synthetic and Mobil 1 filter and cleaned all the mud off the engine plastics

 

Yeah they did some nice work. Re-reading it after finding the thread to post I couldn't help but giggle about the fact that the guy doing the bed bob was named Bob.

 

Bob was the first guy to ever do it. Not that Bob but the original Bob.

 

Well, you are doing the work with your own hands, correct?

I mean not being a hater , but IMHO, what you are doing is the real deal and to me is way more bad ass... again, not hating, but in the world of “customs” or “customizing” the sky is the limit. IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW DEEP ARE YOUR POCKETS $$$.

Not taking ANYTHING away from that 3rd GEN, awesome rig.

I believe that DIY is the essence of the TacomaWorld community - it’s all about the driveway, three shade, mods that so many guys out here come up with.

My bushings sound like a horror movie. But lost my job so they gonna sound like that for alittle longer. That was the next thing I was gonna do till jersey was put on lockdown

 

Thanks for some peace of mind. It was a muffler shop that did it, so I figured they had it handled. I just showed them a pic of another member's truck.

 

It very well may have been mine. I opted for having it done that way because it's simple and cheap. Retains the factory Y flange this way which I was a fan of. I only paid $120 too.

 

Mine cost me 2 bills. They must have charged me Covid hazard charge.

Juust kidding. I can't find the hose for the Fumoto valve. Yes, I looked in the truck.

 

Reminds me of saying: " Real Jeeps are built not bought". I know it's not a Jeep, but you get the idea.

 

Got front side windows tinted and added WeatherTech window visors.

 

Installed the new skid


And spaced the brake line off two of the slider bolts.

Kidding again. Fumoto valve points straight down...

First time doing it since I installed this thing.

 

New brakes are on, and what a world of difference they make! LS460 calipers, IS-F rotors. Offering a full kit now for a complete bolt on solution. Not sure how to advertise without stepping on toes though
